      Yvonne from Austin, Texas loves mobilizing Christians and entire churches to find and engage their God-designed role for participation in the completion of the Great Commission. Currently on staff with Perspectives Global, Yvonne's varied career experience includes the corporate world, local church ministry, mission ministry, and managing a non-profit organization. She has worked with the Perspectives movement for over 25 years both nationally and internationally. Her overseas field experience includes one year in Russia and travel in 40 nations. She holds a Doctor of Ministry in Missions and Cross-Cultural Studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

      Exploring God's purpose regarding evil: How God has accomplished a defeat of evil powers in order to open a season of history in which the nations can freely follow Christ. The kingdom of God as the destiny of all history. Christ's mission seeks a hindering of evil to bring about a sign of the coming peace of the kingdom of God. Our prayers contend with evil in order to bring about the transformation of society with Christ's kingdom in view.

      John is passionate about the churches mission in the world. Growing up as a child of missionaries in Bangladesh and Pakistan amongst millions who have never heard of Jesus he is thrilled that his job allows him to mobilize followers of Jesus for mission both as senders and goers. He serves as the Minister of Missions at historic Park Street Church in Boston and also oversees the Young Adult Groups. He has been a Church Planting Pastor and Senior Minister of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Brookline, MA. John has served in Churches in New Jersey, Texas, and New York working with youth groups and college students before coming to Boston. He is ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA). He currently serves on the board of directors of World Relief, an international Christian relief and development organization and on the national leadership team of the US Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization. He is a graduate of Wheaton College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and of Princeton Theological Seminary where he received a Masters of Divinity. He is a teacher for the US Center for World Missions Perspectives Courses and speaks at various conferences. John has been married to his wife Sun Young since 2001. They have one son Noah, Sun Young is a graduate of Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and is a high school teacher.

      Chris Clayman is the Co-Founder and an Associate Director of Global Gates (www.globalgates.info), a mission organization focused on reaching the ends of the earth through global gateway cities. He has been involved in pioneer mission work in urban and rural West Africa and New York City among unreached Muslim peoples. Chris is also the author of Superplan: a journey into God’s story (thesuperplan.com) and ethNYcity: The Nations, Tongues, and Faiths of Metropolitan New York (unreachednewyork.com). He has initiated and helped develop numerous mobilization and outreach efforts focused on unreached peoples, including Heart for Muslims (heartformuslims.com), Welcome Africans (welcomeafricans.com), and UPG North America (upgnorthamerica.com). Chris lives with his wife Nichole and three children in New York City.

      Disciple Making Mentors, Fayetteville AR

      Brian and Louise Hogan have served in mission since 1987. From the Navajo Tribe to Outer Mongolia, their passion has been to see Jesus glorified and lifted up among those who have never known Him. From 1993-1996 their team pioneered a church planting movement in Erdenet (AIR-DUH-NET), Mongolia that continues to grow under fully indigenous leadership to this day. Their Mongolian disciples are now training and sending out their own missionaries to other unreached people groups. The story of the work in Erdenet can be read in Brian’s book: There’s a Sheep in my Bathtub (Asteroidea Books), and in the case study article – “Distant Thunder: Mongols Follow the Khan of Khans” – on page 695 of your Perspectives Reader.

      Stephen Vannah is an ordained pastor, has been the field leader for SIM in Senegal for about ten years. He is presently the Northeastern Regional Director for SIM. He and his wife live in Western MA. They have two daughters. He holds a Masters in New Testament Studies, an MDiv. and a DMin. His current responsibilities involve a considerable amount of traveling to churches, Christian colleges and institutions to preach, teach seminars and workshops on missions, leadership and synergetic teamwork. He teachers Missions, at Berkshire Institute of Christian Studies.

      David Gadoury served as Lead Pastor of the Cranston Christian Fellowship for 42 years, a missions focused church that invested heavily in its global partners and directly engaged in numerous projects among the world's unreached peoples. He and his wife have ministered to cross-cultural workers in nine foreign countries. In 2017 he became Executive Director of TOGETHER, a multi-church, multi-denominational partnership formed in 2010 to advance the gospel in the greater Rhode Island area.

      David graduated from Nyack College in 1986 with an MS Degree in Missiology, and a Mastors in Management, International Development from Hope International University in Fullerton, CA. After 12 years in the corporate world in the greater NY/NJ area, he joined the U.S. Center for World Mission in Pasadena, where he served as the Director of Recruiting for 6 years. In 2005, he moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he assumed the role of National Director for the Perspectives Study Program. In 2012, he joined the Center for Mission Mobilization. He is also part of the Perspectives Global Team, living and serving in Latin America. He has served on brief short term trips to India, Kenya and Peru.

      How Shall They Hear?

      Culture and intercultural communication of the gospel. Communicating the gospel with relevance at the worldview level helps avoid syncretism (blending of cultural error with God?s truth) and also enables powerful movements of the gospel. Sensitive missionaries will look for ways that God has preserved or prepared people to hear the gospel, often finding redemptive analogies for God's truth.

      Kimberly loves to see God's healing power touching people's lives through medicine and prayer. Whenever she can, Kimberly treks the globe, where her heart is most alive among the poor. After 2+ years running a medical clinic in Indonesia (the subject of her book “Degrees of Sight”), Kimberly moved to Clarkston, GA, to live among a refugee community, and practice medicine for under-served populations. After subsequently earning a PhD in International Public Health at USF, she moved to SE Asia with her family, where she has lived for 5.5 years. She also enjoys challenging churches and Perspective students to capture God's heart for the world.

      The Spontaneous Multiplication of Churches

      Look beyond institutional features of churches to understand churches as dynamic movements of Christ Himself being followed. Such a view of churches as organic, living things opens up the practicality of seeing them multiply rapidly as movements and also flourish in society bearing the fruit of social transformation. Churches as counter-communities, acting as salt and light, bringing change to their cultures. How movements multiply by connecting with entire families and larger social structures.

      Don Perry has spent years equipping and training church planters in South Asia, East Africa and the Middle East, working in Hindu and Muslim contexts. Here in the States, he works as a writer, trainer and consultant, helping ministries and churches with creative outreaches. Don says, “I love teaching Perspectives - our class will be informal, interactive and will stretch all of us together. Bring your hardest questions, and come prepared to challenge assumptions, look afresh at the Scriptures and the Kingdom of God, and to look as a group honestly and deeply within ourselves.       Jim has served on the full time missionary staff of Cru for 44 years. Over the years, Jim has directed the Hampton Beach Summer Project for 15 years and has helped initiate ministries in Japan, the former Soviet Union, Egypt, and throughout North Africa and the Middle East. Jim's favorite lessons to teach in the Perspectives course are Lessons #4 & #5. Jim has been married to his wife, Barbara, since 1979. They currently live in Malvern, PA. They have three grown children, Becky, Mike, and Heather who are now serving as missionaries, also.
