    Dave Shive is a 1968 graduate of the Washington Bible College, a 1972 graduate of Capital Bible Seminary with a Th.M. in New Testament Studies, and a 1994 graduate of Baltimore Hebrew University with an M.A. in Biblical Literature. Dave has spent the past 47 years in full time ministry as a pastor, Christian school director, and college professor. He currently serves with Frontier Ventures (formerly the US Center for World Mission) as a missions mobilizer for the northeast region of the United States. Dave lives in Catonsville, MD, with Kathy, his wife of 52 years. Dave and Kathy have three married children, Dan, Mike, and Becky. Michael was born and raised in a Chinese-Cambodian refugee home after his parents escaped the horrors of the Khmer Rouge regime. Growing up in a Christian and Ancestral-Buddhist home, Michael started following the teachings of Jesus at a young age. Professionally, Michael is currently CEO of ReconciledIt.com. Michael and his wife Shannon moved to Seattle in 2007 to begin peacemaking work among Christian and Muslim communities in the Puget Sound. He has been a part of a church planting team in North Africa. He is the US Director for Union, a ministry based in the UK training leaders for the Church throughout the world. He also serves as the Director of Executive Projects for The Lausanne Movement, creating and catalyzing initiatives to accelerate the completion of the Great Commission.     How Shall They Hear?

    Culture and intercultural communication of the gospel. Communicating the gospel with relevance at the worldview level helps avoid syncretism (blending of cultural error with God?s truth) and also enables powerful movements of the gospel. Sensitive missionaries will look for ways that God has preserved or prepared people to hear the gospel, often finding redemptive analogies for God's truth.

    Pam is currently the Co-Editor of Perspectives 5th Edition and a member of All Nations. She lived in Central Asia for ten years, where she planted churches among three people groups, two of whom are Muslim. She earned an MA and PhD in Linguistics (i.e. Bible Translation) from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has published numerous books and articles in missions. She is most well known as “The Stick Figure Lady” for her popular book “Stick Figures Save the World.”

    Craig Parker is the city leader for the Navigators in Boston, seeking to transform the city through life-to-life discipleship. Craig has worked for the Navigators for 37 years, with previous staff assignments in New Hampshire, Germany, and Virginia. He served as campus director at Boston University for 7 years, and at Dartmouth College for 17 years. As founding board member and former chairman of the board of directors of the Lwala Community Alliance, he has engaged in international development in western Kenya. He has also worked among Roma people in Croatia, helping to create a long term Croatian partnership with the Northeast Collegiate Navigators.     Robert has worked in Church-planting and Development work in Central Asia in a war torn country 15 of the last 20 years. He and his wife and 3 children have led Frontiers Church-planting teams in new areas most of that time. Rob has an MA in World Christianity from Denver Seminary and teaches Christians insights useful in understanding Islam/Muslims in the world today. He did MDiv. studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, is a Doctor of Ministry program there and is Assistant Director of the Dr J Christy Wilson Jr. Center for World Missions and an adjunct professor at Gordon Conwell.     Paul Martindale worked for 18 years in North Africa in church planting as a tent-maker with Arab World Ministries(AWM). He was AWM's Morocco Country leader and Area Director for North Africa. Paul also served as Islamicist and ministry consultant for Pioneers in the USA where he trained churches how to reach Muslims living in their communities. Paul was the director of the Summer Institute on Islam in Philadelphia and has a D.Min in Missions and Cross-Cultural Studies. He is Ranked Adjunct Professor of Islamic Studies and Cross-Cultural Ministry at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He and his wife Michele have three children and 5 grandchildren.     Gregg Detwiler

    Gregg Detwiler is the Director of Intercultural Ministries at Emmanuel Gospel Center, an interdenominational urban ministry organization in Boston, Massachusetts. The mission of Intercultural Ministries of EGC is “to connect the Body of Christ across cultural lines…for the purpose of expressing and advancing the Kingdom of God… in Boston, New England, and around the world.” Gregg works with a wide cross-section of leaders from hundreds of cultural groups. His ministry largely involves applied research, training/consulting and networking. Prior to joining the staff of EGC in 2001, Gregg served for 13 years as a church planter and pastor of a multicultural church in Boston. He also served for five years as the Pastor of Missions & Diaspora Ministry at Mount Hope Christian Center in Burlington, Massachusetts. He earned his Doctor of Ministry in Urban Ministry in 2001 from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Ministry in Complex Urban Settings. His thesis, Nurturing Diaspora Ministry and Missions in a Euro-American Majority Congregation, has provided much of the direction of his ministry in recent years. Raised in Kansas, Gregg graduated from Evangel University and the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Missouri. Gregg and his wife Rita live in the Boston area and have three children.
