      Todd Ahrend graduated from Northeastern State University, has a Masters from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Doctorate from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is the founder and international Director of The Traveling Team, a national missions mobilization movement. He and his wife, Jessica, have spent almost two decades traveling both nation-wide and abroad, speaking to thousands of people about involvement in world evangelization. Todd has exposure in over sixty countries and has lived in the Middle East. He is the author of The Abrahamic Revolution and In This Generation. Todd and Jessica have six children: Camden, Brody, Axel, Noble, Quincy and Cruz!

      Your Kingdom Come

      Exploring God's purpose regarding evil: How God has accomplished a defeat of evil powers in order to open a season of history in which the nations can freely follow Christ. The kingdom of God as the destiny of all history. Christ's mission seeks a hindering of evil to bring about a sign of the coming peace of the kingdom of God. Our prayers contend with evil in order to bring about the transformation of society with Christ's kingdom in view.

      Ministries to Muslims, Divide CO

      Dr. Don McCurry served as a missionary among Punjabi peoples in Pakistan for eighteen years with the United Presbyterian Church. In 1975, Don came home to work on his doctorate at The School of World Mission at Fuller Theological Seminary. From 1977 to 1985, Don taught at Fuller in the field of Muslim Evangelism. He also founded and taught for seven years in the Zwemer Institute of Muslim Studies, training eight hundred missionaries who went to the Muslim world. In 1986, Don founded a new ministry called "Ministries To Muslims." This has enabled Don to teach freely throughout the two-thirds world in 67 countries, preparing missionaries to stand alongside of the western missions in reaching Muslims. Don's authored, Healing the Broken Family of Abraham: Bringing New Life to Muslims, which has been translated into Spanish, Russian, Arabic, German, Tatar, Azeri, Tajik, Turkmen, Uzbek, and Georgian. Other books include The Gospel and Islam: A Compendium and Sharing the Good News With Iranians and Now You Can Know What Muslims Believe. Dr. McCurry currently offices in Colorado Springs where he serves as President of Ministries To Muslims.

      Pam is currently the Co-Editor of Perspectives 5th Edition and a member of All Nations. She lived in Central Asia for ten years, where she planted churches among three people groups, two of whom are Muslim. She earned an MA and PhD in Linguistics (i.e. Bible Translation) from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has published numerous books and articles in missions. She is most well known as “The Stick Figure Lady” for her popular book “Stick Figures Save the World.”

      Yvonne from Austin, Texas loves mobilizing Christians and entire churches to find and engage their God-designed role for participation in the completion of the Great Commission. Currently on staff with Perspectives Global, Yvonne's varied career experience includes the corporate world, local church ministry, mission ministry, and managing a non-profit organization. She has worked with the Perspectives movement for over 25 years both nationally and internationally. Her overseas field experience includes one year in Russia and travel in 40 nations. She holds a Doctor of Ministry in Missions and Cross-Cultural Studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

      Jonathan Nowlen grew up as a missionary kid in multiple countries and served in YWAM for 18 years. At a young age he gained a strong international perspective and a heart for the nations. Over the last 25 years he has led mission efforts and kingdom enterprises in over 60 nations with an emphasis on leadership and community development. Jonathan is passionate about marketplace ministry and is focused on equipping believers to thrive in their vocations and advance the Kingdom of God. Jonathan is also the author of the books titled 'Faith and Five Dollars', 'Outreach Matters - 17 Principles for Successful Missions' and 'Managing Your Metron' - A practical theology of work, mission and meaning.'

      How Shall They Hear?

      Culture and intercultural communication of the gospel. Communicating the gospel with relevance at the worldview level helps avoid syncretism (blending of cultural error with God?s truth) and also enables powerful movements of the gospel. Sensitive missionaries will look for ways that God has preserved or prepared people to hear the gospel, often finding redemptive analogies for God's truth.

      Jay Gupta came to the U.S.A. in 1963, as a loyal Hindu, for further education and training. Four years later, he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior and the Lord of his life. The Lord blessed Jay with outstanding success in manufacturing management, both in the U.S. and Canada. Subsequently, the Lord granted him a distinguished career in sales and marketing management. During the late seventies, the Lord helped Jay and his family to realize that the greatest impact on a nation could be achieved by reaching its influential leaders. With this burden, He led them into forming SPREAD International (Society for Professional Resources Exchange And Development Int'l). SPREAD has ministered to top leaders, professionals and scholars, including the President of India. Jay and his wife, Linda, served in various ministries at The Peoples Church in Toronto where Jay served as an elder for many years. Currently, he is serving as an elder and chairman of the elder board at Front Range Alliance Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Gupta family had the privilege of serving God overseas for several years. Now, their son and his family are serving as missionaries in Ukraine. Jay has been a guest on television and radio programs in America, Canada, and South Africa. Jay first graduated with an engineering degree from Chicago. Later on, he also graduated from Briercrest Bible College and Dallas Theological Seminary.

      Cindy Kai is a teacher and conference speaker, ministering overseas since 1994. Within the context of missions, she helps people understand the cultural dynamics of kingdom building and develop multicultural understandings here and abroad. As a university professor she teaches anthropology courses including subjects surrounding Culture, Community, Race, Class, Social & Cultural Diversity and Cross-cultural Gendered Communication. She works as a Cultural Educator outside the university with a passion for her own people: Native American in the U.S. and First Nations in Canada.

      Dr. Taher Youssef serves as a medical director for an non-governmental organization (NGO) that works in Central Asia. He oversees the public health, preventive health, and clinical projects that his NGO operates through its rural medical clinics . His medical work spans both developing and developed countries with internships and work experiences in both the public health and clinical medicine arena. He holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from Azusa Pacific University, a Master’s Degree in International Public Health from Loma Linda University, and a Medical Degree from England. His interest lies in incorporating his medical experiences for the transformational development of rural communities in the developing world. Dr. Youssef has a passion to develop communities that would invest into a 'holistic' perspective on health – physical wholeness as a result of a healthy interaction between an individual’s heart, mind, and the spirit. It is his desire to see a shift in the conventional paradigm of physical wellness into one that is a natural result of a healthy social, mental, and spiritual interaction.

      Look beyond institutional features of churches to understand churches as dynamic movements of Christ Himself being followed. Such a view of churches as organic, living things opens up the practicality of seeing them multiply rapidly as movements and also flourish in society bearing the fruit of social transformation. Churches as counter-communities, acting as salt and light, bringing change to their cultures. How movements multiply by connecting with entire families and larger social structures.

      Dr. Jon Hardin is the National Communications Specialist for Frontiers. He has served in full-time missions work for over 25 years. Jon regularly speaks and teaches in churches, conferences, and various training events around the world--he has taught over 35,000 Perspectives students. Jon has a passion for seeing local churches and ordinary Christians step into strategic roles in the global missions enterprise. Jon is an ordained minister, holds a PhD from the VU University in Amsterdam, and did post-graduate studies at the International Baptist Theological Seminary in Prague. He is also a graduate of Denver Seminary. Jon is a CPA and prior to going into full-time ministry he worked for IBM Corporation for nine years.

      Shane helps Christians love Muslims and Muslims love Jesus. He has served in missions mobilization since 1987, recruiting, training, and sending short term research teams. He's been on teams in Bangkok, Bombay, and Turkey and he's lived among Muslim migrants in Europe. Shane writes a weekly email called Muslim Connect that helps Christians think about Muslims the way God does and love them like Jesus does. He works with Healing Nations and he and his family live in southern Colorado.

Wisdom in working with local churches and in partnership with Christians in different parts of the world.

      Brian and Louise Hogan have served in mission since 1987. From the Navajo Tribe to Outer Mongolia, their passion has been to see Jesus glorified and lifted up among those who have never known Him. From 1993-1996 their team pioneered a church planting movement in Erdenet (AIR-DUH-NET), Mongolia that continues to grow under fully indigenous leadership to this day. Their Mongolian disciples are now training and sending out their own missionaries to other unreached people groups. The story of the work in Erdenet can be read in Brian’s book: There’s a Sheep in my Bathtub (Asteroidea Books), and in the case study article – “Distant Thunder: Mongols Follow the Khan of Khans” – on page 695 of your Perspectives Reader.
