    Joshua grew up in Honolulu Hawaii, the cultural melting pot of the pacific. He was educated at California Baptist University (where he took perspectives under Jeff Lewis), before finishing up a seminary degree from Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX. Joshua spent the following 13 years serving and leading the Missions Ministry for Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. He was responsible for over 50 trips sent out by the church nationally and internationally. In addition to mobilizing short-term, he has been involved in the development of many long-term overseas strategies including the development of a Bible Institute along the Amazon River, training indigenous leaders theologically to plant/shepherd village churches and vocationally to provide for their families through government co-ops. Joshua has also served on the advisory council of a number of different non-profits including Seed Effect, an evangelical Micro-Finance Ministry in South Sudan. Currently he serves as the Director of Church Relationships for Launch Global - helping local churches recruit, train, and send Long Term Missionaries to the unreached peoples of the world. Joshua and his wife Maria live in Lynchburg, Va.

    Dr. Vic's passion is helping others understand and communicate truth found in the Bible. This passion presently is channeled primarily through two organizations - Dallas Seminary and SIM. At the seminary, Vic serves as Department Chairman and Professor of Pastoral Ministries, teaching courses related to Spiritual Life and Preaching. With SIM, he continues his work in cross-cultural theological education, focusing primarily on developing church leaders for East Africa, especially Ethiopia. He helped establish a Bible College in Addis Ababa in the 1990's, and now, having finished 15 years of full time missionary service, he returns each summer to Ethiopia to teach for a couple of months. Vic has been teaching with Perspectives since 2007, and he finds great personal inspiration in the Story of God's Glory. He anticipates that students in every Perspectives class will be stunned as they are gripped by the Master's mission for His world.

    Stephen Vannah is an ordained pastor, has been the field leader for SIM in Senegal for about ten years. He is presently the Northeastern Regional Director for SIM. He and his wife live in Western MA. They have two daughters. He holds a Masters in New Testament Studies, an MDiv. and a DMin. His current responsibilities involve a considerable amount of traveling to churches, Christian colleges and institutions to preach, teach seminars and workshops on missions, leadership and synergetic teamwork. He joined Wycliffe Bible Translators in 1998 and served as a Bible translator in Southeast Asia. He also served as the director of Korean Church Engagement and provided missions education and training.     Courtney Contos received a history degree from Texas Tech University, and then worked in a health club as a personal trainer before switching to full-time work in mobilization. From 2007-2010 she lived on the road with The Traveling Team, casting missions vision to college-age audiences around the U.S. That was followed by three years with Cafe 1040, an Atlanta-based group with intensive missional training bases in Africa and Southeast Asia.     Ron grew up in Charlotte, NC but has spent time serving churches as a Student Pastor in SC, LA and KY. He currently lives in Roanoke, TX with his wife and three children. He received his degree in Student Ministry from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, before finishing up a seminary degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Ron now serves as the Director of Missions for NEXT Worldwide in Flower Mound, TX. He has led over 40 short-term mission trips to 10 countries sent out by NEXT both domestically and internationally. In addition to mobilizing and leading short-term teams, he is involved in training and equipping pastors and leaders in these countries.

    James (Jim) is a 42 yr veteran missionary with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board (30yrs) and Missional Team (12ys). He and his wife Viola have directed disaster relief and community development projects, church planting, and leadership training. Jim and Viola were part of a church planting movement that saw over 300 churches planted in 18 years among the Miskito people of the Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua and Honduras. Most recently Jim has facilitated a church planting effort in Ethiopia resulting in over 40 churches being planted among the Bacho Oromo people of Western Shewa.

This mission sending organization is focused on launching Disciple-Making Movements (also called Church Planting Movements) among the Unreached People Groups of the world. This 29% of the world does not have even access to witness of word or deed about Jesus in any kind within their culture. Act Beyond is focused on global collaboration to change this spiritual injustice. Kent and his wife Erika worked among Muslims in Asia for 20 years. They continue to lead regular Disciple-Making Movement trainings around the world. He continues to occasionally teach graduate courses in mission strategy. Previously, he coordinated outreach strategies for Unreached People Groups, and developed trans-national, trans-denominational networks at various levels. Kent also pastored in Texas for 7 years before going to the mission field. He has been a seminary professor, the academic dean of a seminary and has taught internationally in a graduate school.     Marco was born and raised in Mexico City. He lived and studied in Argentina for 3 years. Upon returning to CDMX they met Aubrey Murillo and served together as youth pastors, church planters and in Christian education. In 2010 they moved to Texas with their three children, where they were taught and later taught at the Rio Grande Biblical Seminary. In 2014 they moved to Atlanta, GA and planted a church with the North American Mission Board. Subsequently, Marco directed the new Perspectives program in the United States and collaborated in the leadership of Latin America for 6 years.
