      The Traveling Team, Fayetteville AR

      Todd Ahrend graduated from Northeastern State University, has a Masters from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Doctorate from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is the founder and international Director of The Traveling Team, a national missions mobilization movement. He and his wife, Jessica, have spent almost two decades traveling both nation-wide and abroad, speaking to thousands of people about involvement in world evangelization. Todd has exposure in over sixty countries and has lived in the Middle East. He is the author of The Abrahamic Revolution and In This Generation. Todd and Jessica have six children: Camden, Brody, Axel, Noble, Quincy and Cruz!

      The Story of His Glory

      Exploring God's purpose for Himself: How God has been steadily unfolding a plan throughout all nations and generations to bring about His greater glory, ultimately drawing to Himself the worship of all the peoples. Passion and prayer for God's glory.

      Desiring God Community Church, Harrisburg NC

      With a doctorate in the economics of poor countries, Coty worked with developing country governments in Africa and Asia for two decades. During the 1990's God called him out of economics into a full-time preaching and teaching ministry. The Pinckneys served as missionaries in Cameroon during 2001/02. Coty returned to the Charlotte area in 2002 to plant Desiring God Community Church. Coty also partnered with David Voth of Steele Creek Church to bring the Perspectives course back to Charlotte after a long hiatus. In addition to his pastoral work and his service with Perspectives Charlotte, Coty is involved in training and equipping pastors in India, Indonesia, and elsewhere. Coty and his wife Beth have six children and nine grandchildren, and live in Harrisburg, NC.

      Your Kingdom Come

      Exploring God's purpose regarding evil: How God has accomplished a defeat of evil powers in order to open a season of history in which the nations can freely follow Christ. The kingdom of God as the destiny of all history. Christ's mission seeks a hindering of evil to bring about a sign of the coming peace of the kingdom of God. Our prayers contend with evil in order to bring about the transformation of society with Christ's kingdom in view.

      Steve served in cross-cultural mission and local church leadership for over 20 years, personally experiencing both the barriers and the breakthroughs of interpersonal, workplace and community conflict. In 2010 he left vocational church ministry and followed a calling to begin working full time in the field of conflict resolution. As a Certified Christian Conciliator, Steve loves helping individuals, families, businesses and organizations resolve conflicts and build relational skills in a wide variety of cultural, socioeconomic, educational and religious settings. A graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and Reformed Theological Seminary, he and his family are currently based in North Carolina. When he’s not making peace, he loves making music and cooking food on open fires.

      Mandate for the Nations

      Jesus shows great strategic interest in Gentiles; wise strategic focus by initiating a global mission on a few disciples among the Hebrew people. The Great Commission and the ways of God's sending in relational power. Dealing with the ideas of pluralism (all religions the same) and universalism (all persons saved).

      Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Newport NC

      Bill Klear has served as the Operation Christmas Child International Regional Manager for South and East Asia since 2008. Prior to coming to OCC, Bill spent several years living in China and speaks Mandarin Chinese. He holds a Masters of Divinity specializing in International Church Planting from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in North Carolina. He now uses his experience in cross cultural communication and leadership training as a tool to support his role managing Volunteer Leadership Teams, coordinating prayer, and facilitating literature development throughout East Asia. Bill’s vision is to see the OCC ministry used as a key to open the door to the gospel of Jesus Christ in communities that otherwise may not be reached. He lives in Boone, North Carolina with his wife, 8 year old son, 7 year old daughter, and 4 year old son.

      Unleashing the Gospel

      The first followers of Jesus: obedient in costly, foundational ways. The climactic act of the book of Acts is the freeing of the gospel to be followed by Gentiles without Jewish traditions as a requirement. A foundational act of God which speaks to the situations where the gospel is hindered today. Strategic suffering and apostolic passion.

      Dr. Cashin is professor of intercultural studies at Columbia Int'l University. He is fluent in Bengali and Swedish. The 1st due to investing 9 years with Bengali speakers (the 6th largest living language). The 2nd, thru marriage to Margareta, pastoring churches and earning his PhD in Indiology at Stockholm University.

      Marti has been teaching Perspectives since the 1990’s and serving with Pioneers (Pioneers.org) since 2007, where she is the editorial director for the Marketing Team. Previously she was part of a ministry that sent teams to conduct ethnographic research to support strategic prayer and ministry efforts in unreached cities. She is the editor and publisher of the weekly Missions Catalyst newsletter (MissionsCatalyst.net) and serves on the board for MissionWorks (MissionWorks.global).

I experienced the joy of watching my ethnic people receive the NT and experience the power of God in amazing ways. I later went with my beautiful Wife Anita to Thailand to serve with Wycliffe. On our watch we have seen over 2000 missionaries go to serve among over 1800 people groups in the last 24 years. We are passionate about God's glory to be experienced by all peoples.

All the more reason to learn the wisdom and the heart of ordinary people who did extraordinary things in earlier generations. Reading the writings of William Carey and other leaders to discern what these people have left to us. Exploring the contribution of women in missions throughout the centuries.

      Julius directs Hope Outreach International Ministries. In the the past 8 years, he has lectured for the Perspectives course hosted at several locations by the US Center for World Missions. He is a gifted planner, an engaging speaker, and a very enthusiastic servant. His unique background gives him an edge in dissecting cultural issues pertinent to the gospel message and he is blessed with fluency in several languages. Their family verses are 1 Corinthians 9:16 and Luke 12:15.

      The Task Remaining

      God's pressed His purpose forward until the present hour of amazing opportunity. Understanding the concept of "unreached peoples" to assess the remaining task. Recognizing the imbalance of mission resources shapes strategic priorities. The basic minimal missiological achievement in every people group opens the way for working with God against every kind of evil so that the gospel of the kingdom is declared and displayed with clarity and power.       Wycliffe Bible Translators, Greensboro NC

      Marsha came to faith in Christ in 1979 on a hippie journey to Africa, searching for the meaning of life; three years later she began what would become a life-time career, engaging the globe for her Lord. Marsha has served in Latin America, Europe and North Africa, including the adventure of living in refugee camps in the Sahara Desert. In 2010 she joined Wycliffe Bible Translators, serving their partner Seed Company as Field Coordinator and Training Manager, and currently as Launch Coordinator for Wycliffe USA. Marsha's passion, training and mentoring new cross-cultural workers, led her to author “To Timbuktu and Beyond: A Guide to Getting Started in Missions”, published by William Carey Library, in 2009.

      How Shall They Hear?

      Culture and intercultural communication of the gospel. Communicating the gospel with relevance at the worldview level helps avoid syncretism (blending of cultural error with God?s truth) and also enables powerful movements of the gospel. Sensitive missionaries will look for ways that God has preserved or prepared people to hear the gospel, often finding redemptive analogies for God's truth.

      Disciple Making Mentors, Fayetteville AR

      Brian and Louise Hogan have served in mission since 1987. From the Navajo Tribe to Outer Mongolia, their passion has been to see Jesus glorified and lifted up among those who have never known Him. From 1993-1996 their team pioneered a church planting movement in Erdenet (AIR-DUH-NET), Mongolia that continues to grow under fully indigenous leadership to this day. Their Mongolian disciples are now training and sending out their own missionaries to other unreached people groups. The story of the work in Erdenet can be read in Brian’s book: There’s a Sheep in my Bathtub (Asteroidea Books), and in the case study article – “Distant Thunder: Mongols Follow the Khan of Khans” – on page 695 of your Perspectives Reader.

      The incarnation as a model of missionary humility.       Gabriela Phillips and her husband have served for over twenty years among Muslim in Central Asia, the Middle East and currently they are in North America, where they serve among refugees from the Middle East. Gabriela is currently pursuing doctoral studies in the area of Missiology and loves to share the many ways in which God is drawing Muslims to himself.

Tim is President of GIS Inc., a landscape design franchise looking to eventually create BAM entry platforms for new teams of CP'ers.

      The Spontaneous Multiplication of Churches

      Look beyond institutional features of churches to understand churches as dynamic movements of Christ Himself being followed. Such a view of churches as organic, living things opens up the practicality of seeing them multiply rapidly as movements and also flourish in society bearing the fruit of social transformation. Churches as counter-communities, acting as salt and light, bringing change to their cultures. How movements multiply by connecting with entire families and larger social structures.

      AJ is the Director & General Secretary for INIM established 1964. The sole focus of this indigenous Mission remains Evangelism, Discipleship & Church Planting.
