He helps lead the church in reaching the nations, both in Baton Rouge through International Ministry, and around the world through trips and partnerships. He and His wife Amber have a passion to see the church grasp and act on her God given opportunity and responsibility to make disciples of all nations. After pursuing going to the Muslim world themselves, God has had them stay in the states to help every follower of Jesus see that their lives have been bought and their redemption has been given not just for themselves, but so Jesus will be made known through every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. In 2018, they opened Light House Coffee in Baton Rouge, a coffee shop with the mission to Serve the World Through a Baton Rouge Coffee Experience. They use this business as an opportunity to employ, love, and serve refugees from around the world, and train up global workers to use business to impact the world.

    Todd Ahrend graduated from Northeastern State University, has a Masters from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Doctorate from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is the founder and international Director of The Traveling Team, a national missions mobilization movement. He and his wife, Jessica, have spent almost two decades traveling both nation-wide and abroad, speaking to thousands of people about involvement in world evangelization. Todd has exposure in over sixty countries and has lived in the Middle East. He is the author of The Abrahamic Revolution and In This Generation.     Dr. Chuck Pourciau serves as Senior Pastor of Broadmoor Baptist Church. Dr. Pourciau also serves as a trustee on the International Mission Board for the Southern Baptist Convention. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attended Comite Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, where at the age of 9, he trusted his life to Jesus as Savior and Lord. His wife, Tracy Winters Pourciau (Baton Rouge, LA), was also active in Comite Baptist Church. They married on January 3, 1981. During his sophomore year at LSU, Dr. Pourciau responded to God’s call to vocational ministry. His degrees include a B.A. in History from Mississippi College, and Master of Divinity Degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, a Ph.D. in New Testament Studies from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Arts in Apologetics from Biola University. Dr. Pourciau’s first pastorate was Lewiston Baptist Church, Kentwood, Louisiana, in 1984. He has also served as pastor for congregations at Centreville Baptist Church, Mississippi, and First Baptist Church Louisville, Mississippi. He began serving at Broadmoor Baptist on April 1, 1999. Chuck and Tracy have a daughter and son-in-law, Casey and Stephen Richards, 2 grandsons, Aaron Richards and Will Richards, and a daughter, Leigh. His hobbies include hunting, cycling, beekeeping, history and reading.     Brian and Louise Hogan have served in mission since 1987. From the Navajo Tribe to Outer Mongolia, their passion has been to see Jesus glorified and lifted up among those who have never known Him. From 1993-1996 their team pioneered a church planting movement in Erdenet (AIR-DUH-NET), Mongolia that continues to grow under fully indigenous leadership to this day. Their Mongolian disciples are now training and sending out their own missionaries to other unreached people groups. The story of the work in Erdenet can be read in Brian’s book: There’s a Sheep in my Bathtub (Asteroidea Books), and in the case study article – “Distant Thunder: Mongols Follow the Khan of Khans” – on page 695 of your Perspectives Reader.

    Master of Divinity - New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary B.A. Education - Louisiana Tech University As Managing Director/Investment Services of Argent Advisors, Inc., Mike is employed full time in the investment management business. His avocation however is the study of church history and theology. He has traveled extensively tracing following up on research on the history of Christianity. Mike resides in Ruston, LA with his wife, Gina, and has two children, Ben (26) and Emma (21). He has been in Ruston, LA since joining Argent in the fall of 1990. For many years Mike has independently pursued his interest and love for church history. He has traveled extensively throughout Europe participating in tours retracing the history of the church and visiting significant places of our Christian heritage. These tours have led him into further academic pursuits. In 2005 Mike completed an independent study through the Zurich Theological Seminary which allowed him to focus solely on the Protestant Reformation in Switzerland.     Dennis and his wife Nancy served as linguists and Bible translators among the 20,000 Duna people of Papua New Guinea. After devising an alphabet for this previously unwritten language they produced primers and readers, teaching many to read their own language. They then translated the first portions of God's Word into the Duna language. Several thousand Duna came to faith in Christ and today there are many churches among these people.

    Danny and his wife Frances along with their two sons moved to a central African country in 1992. There they served as part of a pioneering church planting team working among a major unreached people group with an estimated population of around fifteen million in all of sub-Saharan Africa. They returned to the US in 2013 and continue to serve the work in Africa by offering logistical and administrative support. They desire to serve the Body of Christ in the US as mobilizers and encouragers to those who serve in hard places. They also welcome the nations who live among us.

    Jana serves as director of School-Based Ministries at First West, West Monroe, La. Through this position she works hand-in-hand with local schools, neighborhoods, mission-minded businesses and foundations, plus a variety of churches, to bring healing and restoration for the glory of Jesus Christ. Prior to joining the staff at First West, she worked through the non-profit organization, The Wellspring of NELA and Family Justice Center. There she worked closely with those oppressed by domestic violence, sexual assault and those suffering feelings of hopelessness due to homelessness, addiction and poverty. God used this framework to move her towards a specific focus within her community which launched the umbrella of School-Based Ministries concept. Broaden Horizons after-school and summer camps, Kids Hope one-on-one mentor opportunity during school hours, and Project HELP for students in need of professional Christian counseling and parenting resources for caregivers. She works holistically with these teams and the community to restore people spiritually with their Creator, as well as bring healing and restoration to their emotional, social and physical well-being. To reach these goals there is collaboration with agencies such as The United Way, the Wellness Center, NELA Children’s Coalition and The Center for Children and Families. In addition, Jana has a heart for, and works closely with, blended families, families touched by suicide and pushes back against unrestrained media/social media access. On a personal note, Jana lives with her husband Charles Hutzler, with whom she shares four children and 4 “perfect” grandchildren. She is a living testimony of the goodness and faithfulness of Yahweh who has taken every single hurt in her own life and brought healing, purpose and glory for His Son, Jesus Christ. Her abundant love for her Savior is seen by great measure in the way she loves those created in His image!

    In 2014, after four years of pre-field training, the Crabtree family moved around the world to Papua New Guinea, but their journey started eight years earlier in a Perspectives class. In Perspectives they were mobilized to God’s heart for the nations, and began the journey that led them to Papua New Guinea. In the summer of 2020, the Lord used the Crabtree family and their teammates to plant a church among a tribal language group in Papua New Guinea with Ethnos360. Their goal is to see this young church grow toward maturity in Christ through continued translation, discipleship, and Bible teaching. Team Wantakia shares Paul’s ministry goal, “We proclaim him by instructing and teaching all people with all wisdom, so that we may present every person mature in Christ.
