You are invited to join a unique discipleship journey! Perspectives on the World Christian Movement is an adventure of a lifetime that will give you a fresh and deeper understanding of God's story and His desire for you to be a part of it. Perspectives is a course of vision - a vision that will change the way you view the world and help mobilize and equip you to live a life of passion and purpose as Jesus did.

We will hear 15 outstanding speakers as they share from their experiences and teach on the biblical, historical, cultural & strategic perspectives of God's plan for the nations.  Hear how God has been and continues to work throughout the world. Learn more about God's kingdom and His glory. Find out what your part is in this exciting movement to make Jesus' disciples from all nations.

      Dr. J. Julian Dangerfield is the Executive Director of Shalom Outreach Inc., a Christian based non-profit organization dedicated to achieving worldwide propagation of the essentials of the historic Christian faith. He proudly serves on the Board of Directors for Wycliffe Bible Translators and mentors pastors and leaders in several nations. He has a Bachelors degree in Business Management and has completed his Master of Arts degree in Leadership, Evangelism and Mobilization at Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina. He has also completed his doctoral studies at Virginia Union University with a focus on cross cultural ministry. In the United States he has organized the mission efforts of over 25 churches, ministries and not for profit organizations, which has resulted in over 54,000 people coming to Christ. Dr. Dangerfield's perspective is informed by over 29 years of ministry experience and he has traveled to over 40 countries executing strategies that lift humanity while expanding God’s Kingdom.

      Your Kingdom Come

      Exploring God's purpose regarding evil: How God has accomplished a defeat of evil powers in order to open a season of history in which the nations can freely follow Christ. The kingdom of God as the destiny of all history. Christ's mission seeks a hindering of evil to bring about a sign of the coming peace of the kingdom of God. Our prayers contend with evil in order to bring about the transformation of society with Christ's kingdom in view.

      Rev. James Cha was born in Korea, but grew up here in the US. He studied electrical engineering at Cornell University, and worked ten years as an engineer. In 2000 he and his wife, Faith, took their 3 kids to Central Asia, where they served ten years as church planting missionaries with Pioneers. They are now back in the US reaching out to the Muslims in the Washington, DC area. James & Faith are Washington DC Area Coordinators for Crescent Project. They also direct ESL ministry in Leesburg, VA. They have three adult children and one grandchild. James recently published a book about their missions journey - Fear Not: Living a Life of No Regrets.       The first followers of Jesus: obedient in costly, foundational ways. The climactic act of the book of Acts is the freeing of the gospel to be followed by Gentiles without Jewish traditions as a requirement.       Mark was a pastor for 34 years in Lynchburg, VA. He and his wife moved to Lynchburg in 1988 to plant the church with two other couples. They retired from their roles in 2022. He took the Perspectives course in 1986 and it transformed his vision of missions and the role of the church in missions. He considers teaching Perspectives classes as one of the most important things he does.

Dave has spent the past 47 years in full time ministry as a pastor, Christian school director, and college professor. He currently serves with Frontier Ventures (formerly the US Center for World Mission) as a missions mobilizer for the northeast region of the United States. Dave lives in Catonsville, MD, with Kathy, his wife of 52 years. Dave and Kathy have three married children, Dan, Mike, and Becky. They are also the proud grandparents of 9 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.

      God's pressed His purpose forward until the present hour of amazing opportunity. Understanding the concept of "unreached peoples" to assess the remaining task. Recognizing the imbalance of mission resources shapes strategic priorities. The basic minimal missiological achievement in every people group opens the way for working with God against every kind of evil so that the gospel of the kingdom is declared and displayed with clarity and power.       Columbia International University, Columbia SC

      Dr. Michelle L. K. Raven is a facilitator and mobilizer with a passion for involving the whole church in the mission of God. She served in various teaching/training and leadership roles in local churches, universities, training facilities/academies and communities as she traveled every 2 to 3 years during her Air Force (AF) career. She taught courses for Embry Riddle University, the AF Office of Special Investigations Academy, and was on the editorial team for the first AF Judge Advocate Leadership Book, “I Lead.” She was blessed to start and serve ministries in Louisiana, South Dakota, California, Maryland, Texas, Nevada, Iraq, Burundi, Turkey, Kenya, Puerto Rico, and other places around the world. After a fruitful career as an AF attorney during which she was able to engage in ministry in the marketplace and in the local church, she devoted time to formal study in intercultural ministry obtaining a Masters in Global Studies (Thesis) at Liberty University and began working with Christar, a church planting ministry working among Muslims, Hindus, Buddhist and other Asian groups. She obtained a PhD in Intercultural Studies from Columbia International University.She has passions for sharing the gospel with the least reached and others; for learning about and interacting with other cultures; for teaching and mentoring; for business and community development; and for equipping the local church to use their skills and talents for an eternal purpose. She is also the mother of two wonderful teenagers, Andre’ and Miles.

      How Shall They Hear?

      Culture and intercultural communication of the gospel. Communicating the gospel with relevance at the worldview level helps avoid syncretism (blending of cultural error with God?s truth) and also enables powerful movements of the gospel. Sensitive missionaries will look for ways that God has preserved or prepared people to hear the gospel, often finding redemptive analogies for God's truth.

      Virgil Lee Amos was born in Oakland, California in 1942 and was reared in Central California. He studied at Moody Bible Institute, Biola University, and Talbot Seminary. Virgil has been involved in missions since 1962, and has been ministering in Latin America, Europe, South Asia, West Asia, and Africa. Virgil is Director of Ambassadors Fellowship, a mission agency. Virgil is married to Martha, and has two children: Norma Allen and Lou Ellen Garcia. Virgil and Martha live in Colorado Springs, CO USA.

      Building Bridges of Love

      The incarnation as a model of missionary humility. How missionaries can enter appropriate roles in order to form relationships of trust and respect to develop a sense of belonging, and thus to communicate with credibility for understanding. Explore the intricacy of identification in another culture. Explore the even greater complexity of presenting identity with integrity in a globalized, terrorized, pluralized world. Recognizing the dynamics of social structure in order to initiate growing movements of ongoing communication throughout the society.

      Isabel graduated from Washington Bible College and Columbia International University in Bible/missions. She served with SEND International for 22 1/2 years involved in church planting: evangelism, disciple-making, mentoring, seminary teaching, leadership training in Taiwan & in China. She also served in various leadership roles throughout the years, ministered in Ukraine, Ulan Ude, Korea, Egypt, India, Uganda, Thailand and among the Afghans and Syrian Refugees in Lebanon, Jordan, Macedonia, Clarkston, GA. Currently Isabel is the Minister of Global Outreach & Women's Ministries at CBCM, a Perspectives' instructor, and serves on the Boards of SEND's U.S. & International and Standards of Excellence on Short-term Missions.

      The Spontaneous Multiplication of Churches

      Look beyond institutional features of churches to understand churches as dynamic movements of Christ Himself being followed. Such a view of churches as organic, living things opens up the practicality of seeing them multiply rapidly as movements and also flourish in society bearing the fruit of social transformation. Churches as counter-communities, acting as salt and light, bringing change to their cultures. How movements multiply by connecting with entire families and larger social structures.

      Don Perry has spent years equipping and training church planters in South Asia, East Africa and the Middle East, working in Hindu and Muslim contexts. Here in the States, he works as a writer, trainer and consultant, helping ministries and churches with creative outreaches. Don says, “I love teaching Perspectives - our class will be informal, interactive and will stretch all of us together. Bring your hardest questions, and come prepared to challenge assumptions, look afresh at the Scriptures and the Kingdom of God, and to look as a group honestly and deeply within ourselves. We will dialogue and pray together; sometimes we will laugh, sometimes we will repent. I am excited to come and spend time together with you.”

      The hope of planting churches among unreached peoples. How the breakthrough of the gospel in an unreached people requires that the gospel be "de-Westernized". The difference of contextualizing the message, the messenger and the movement. Distinguish and appreciate people movements, church planting movements and insider movements.

      Derek is the Executive Director of a network for an unreached people group in East Asia. He was formerly the East Asia Director for Beyond, overseeing missionary strategy for starting discipleship / church planting movements among unengaged / unreached people groups of East Asia. He lived in Asia for 12 years. Derek has taught extensively on church planting movements and pioneer church planting to locals in numerous Asian countries. Author of "Innovation in World Mission" through William Carey Library. He started several companies for business as mission. Holds a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership and Foresight from Regent University.

Simplifying your lifestyle as if in "war-time". Exploring the practical ways of pursuing God's purpose. Business and mission. Short-term mission. Welcoming international visitors. Wisdom in working with local churches and in partnership with Christians in different parts of the world.

      The Reverend Dr. Casely B. Essamuah serves as Secretary to the Global Christian Forum. In this role, he offers executive and servant leadership to a Forum that brings together what we consider the 4 pillars and others, namely, the World Evangelical Alliance, the World Council of Churches, the Roman Catholic Church (through the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity), and the Pentecostal World Fellowship. From 2005 to 2018, he served as Global Missions Pastor at Bay Area Community Church, in Annapolis, MD, where he shepherded and supervised the church’s missions' work around the world, including missionaries in Poland, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Nigeria, and a hospital project in southern Sudan. He prepares church members to go as short-term missionaries to these places as well as to El Salvador, Poland, India, Malaysia, South Sudan, Mexico, Ghana and Uganda. From 1998 to June 2005, Dr. Essamuah served as the Minister of Missions at Boston’s historic Park Street Church where he oversaw a similar missions department. Dr. Essamuah did a Master of Divinity degree program at the Divinity School of Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass. And completed a Doctor of Theology at the School of Theology, Boston University, with a dissertation published as Genuinely Ghanaian: A History of the Methodist Church Ghana 1961-2000. A Ghanaian by birth and with ordination standing in the Methodist Church Ghana, he serves the various Ghana Methodist Churches in the USA/Canada in various executive and honorary capacities. He is also honorary secretary to the board of World Relief, the development organization of the National Association of Evangelicals. He is married to Dr. Angela Wakhweya from Uganda. They have three children, one daughter and two sons. His favorite Bible verses is 1 Corinthians 15:10, I am what I am by the grace of god, and he prays that the grace which he has so lavishly received will not be in vain.
