    Andrew grew up on a farm in Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Biological Systems Engineering in 2013. Upon graduation, Andrew joined staff with The Traveling Team, a mobilization ministry that recruits students from all major universities to God's global purposes. During a five year span, Andrew spoke to over 25,000 students at 150 different universities across the country about God's heart for the world. In 2018, Andrew and his wife joined Christar and moved to Spain for one year to work on a mobilization project hosting college students for short term trips and internships while working with Muslim immigrants and refugees. Andrew has firsthand experience in 12 different countries where Christar workers serve among least reached peoples and now serves with his wife as the directors of mobilization for Christar in the US.

    Leroy R. Armstrong, Jr. is a native of Kansas City, MO and resides in the Dallas area with his wife Genena and family. Leroy holds degrees from the University of Kansas (B. S. Electrical Engineering) and Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M.). He is Lead Servant of Proclaiming the Word Ministries (www.proclaimingtheword.com). Leroy has been teaching in the Perspectives Movement since 2007. Leroy has served in pastoral leadership roles in churches for 25 years.     Matt serves as the Executive Pastor of All Nations in St. Louis. All Nations was launched in September of 2017. Prior to that time, Matt and his wife, Kim, were working among the immigrant and refugee population in St. Louis and had partnered with their church at that time to provide holistic services to this underserved community. All involved parties saw the value in creating an organization dedicated exclusively to the work so that organizations throughout the St. Louis area could pool resources and contribute volunteers towards this effort. All Nations was thus formed to bring together people from all over the Metropolitan St. Louis area to embrace our new neighbors and make certain that they thrive here mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. We have since become primarily focused on mobilizing and equipping the local church. We still provide direct services to refugees but our focus is church mobilization.

    Ed Pollasch, and wife Janet, have served the Lord in missions since 1996. Their passion and call is to see the gospel advance into unreached and unengaged peoples. They were part of a church planting team in Tanzania; coordinated a pastoral training and repatriation ministry with South Sudanese; and served as mobilizers and trained in the Middle East/North Africa region. Ed believes strongly in an equipping ministry to Majority World movement leaders. He is equally committed to teaching and training the US church to engage in global missions – “there is fit for anyone and everyone.” Ed is a student of mission history and gospel movements throughout the church age. He and Janet married in 1979 and are currently living in the St Louis area.

    Doug Banwart is a high school history teacher at Bunker Hill High School, a rural school one hour northeast of St. Louis. He teaches five courses there, coaches Scholastic Bowl, announces home basketball games, and drives a bus for the school district. He is also active in assisting the school’s FCA in their various activities throughout the school year. Doug is in his twelfth year in public education, and has used teaching and coaching opportunities to share the love of Christ to students, staff, and community in rural Illinois and Southern California. He created a business for one of his students using the Business as Mission model, and continually seeks to advance God’s kingdom in his capacity as an educator.     How Shall They Hear?

    Culture and intercultural communication of the gospel. Communicating the gospel with relevance at the worldview level helps avoid syncretism (blending of cultural error with God?s truth) and also enables powerful movements of the gospel. Sensitive missionaries will look for ways that God has preserved or prepared people to hear the gospel, often finding redemptive analogies for God's truth.

    Stan and his wife, Valli, served full-time with World Partners since 1978. Valli passed away in November 2021 after a long battle with M.S. Their experience includes 10 years of church planting and curative medical work in Sierra Leone, West Africa among the Yalunka People; 3 years at the US Center as Administrative Director for the Adopt-a-People Clearinghouse; 3 years mobilizing churches to adopt unreached people groups; 2 years training students at Bethel College, Mishawaka, IN; 4 years coaching workers in Africa and the Middle East; and 16 years reaching out to Middle Wast refugees in Kansas City, Missouri. They moved to Maquoketa, Iowa in October 2018 and will begin a new ministry to Middle East students. Stan will continue to serve with World Partners as a traveling evangelist among Muslims and instructor for Perspectives.

    Mark Akers, along with his wife Joani founded Oasis International Ministries located in South City St. Louis 30 years ago. He continues to serve as CEO of the organization with the mission of loving and caring for those seeking refuge from a war-torn nation with the heart of Jesus. His heart is to connect the local church with refugees and help refugees become thriving & happy members of their new community. Love and prayer are the foundations of his ministry. Prior to starting Oasis he served as Missions Associate Pastor for 18 years. He and Joani took Perspectives Class in 2000 and felt God telling them the church needs to get out of the building and be the church.     John Vernon married his wife Janet in December 1985 while attending School of the Ozarks in Branson, MO. They completed their bachelor degrees in May 1987. Upon graduation, they moved to Little Rock, AR where John worked as a computer programmer. They have three daughters: Jessica, 1990; Brittany, 1993; and Amanda, 1995. John attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary from August 1993 through December 1994. In May 1995 their family moved to Central Asia where they spent almost fourteen years coordinating church planting strategies among Muslim peoples. They returned to the United States in January 2008 and served at Miner Baptist Church as their associate pastor of family and children ministries until March 2013.
