WHAT IS PERSPECTIVES? Perspectives is a discipleship course that serves to help the local church mobilize their people to become strategically engaged in God's global purposes within their community and abroad. Perspectives will take you on a 15-week journey looking in-depth at the biblical, historical, cultural, and strategic aspects of God’s global plan to reconcile every nation, tribe, people, and tongue to Himself. You will learn from 15 different instructors - pastors, theologians, missiologists, cross-cultural strategists and mobilizers - all of them excellent and all of them passionate about this course. They will challenge and inspire you with their wisdom and experience, opening your eyes to a deeper vision of God’s mercy and greatness. We value our partnership with Perspectives. Their leadership and discipleship tools have helped our members discover how they can effectively become a part of the global Christian movement. DR. TONY EVANS, Pastor, Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, Dallas TX |
It's about:
- His Glory
- His Kingdom
- His love for the peoples of the world
- His heart shaping my heart
It's about living intentionally to...
- Understand His purposes
- Live for something/someone bigger than myself
- Discover the part I can play in what God is doing in the world
Perspectives is, in my experience, the single best discipleship course to mobilize the church to God’s mission. J.D. GREEAR, Pastor, The Summit Church of Raleigh-Durham |
WHAT ARE THE STUDY LEVELS & REQUIREMENTS? All students enjoy the same interactive class activities, instructor presentations, and all are assigned a mentor. All students will have reading assignments plus five personal reflections. The amount of time invested in reading and assignments varies with each level. Choose the level that is best suited to you at this time.
Certificate Level: We encourage students to take this level. There are approximately 30-35 pages of reading each week, plus ten written review questions based on the reading. The questions are designed to help students gain a deeper understanding of the topics. There is also a 5-page, double-spaced integrative project due at the end of the course. This level is required by some mission sending agencies.
Key Reading Level: This level is for students who may not be able to dedicate the needed time for the certificate level at this time. There are approximately 15-20 pages of reading weekly, plus the personal reflections that are assigned throughout the course. We recommend first trying Certificate Level. You may move to Key Level at any time.
College Credit & High School Dual Enrollment Level: Perspectives partners with Trinity International University to offer undergraduate and graduate level credit hours. Additional reading and exams are required based on the requirements of the credit granting institution. It is the student's responsibility to verify with his/her school that the credit earned will be transferable to their plan of study. A syllabus is available from the class coordinator.
Educator CEU's available through ACSI Alumni are welcome and encouraged to register!
WHO SHOULD TAKE PERSPECTIVES? The short answer is anyone who wants a closer walk with the Lord, who is serious about gaining a deeper understanding of His ultimate purpose in the world. It's for anyone who wants to learn how to strategically invest their lives in seeing God glorified; for anyone who wants to gain insight and direction that will help them to impact their generation. If the above describes you, no matter what your age or position, Perspectives is for you!
