The Perspectives Class offers 3 levels for completion:
Key Reading Level | $250
Prepare for great speakers and great material with light reading. Be challenged to consider your own role in world missions. This level requires about 1-2 hours of reading each week with little written homework. Five "Personal Reflections" assigned during the term will require about an hour each to complete.
Certificate Level | $250
This is the recommended level which provides a rich learning experience. It involves weekly homework assignments, five "Personal Reflections" and one research project due by the end of the course. This level requires about 4 hours of work per week.
Credit Level | Please see Class Pricing on Right
An in-depth study with 3 semester credit hours given through Trinity International University, Excelsior College, or Lancaster Bible College. It involves additional reading and two research projects. It is offered at both the undergraduate or the graduate level.

Dave Shive is a 1968 graduate of the Washington Bible College, a 1972 graduate of Capital Bible Seminary with a Th.M. in New Testament Studies, and a 1994 graduate of Baltimore Hebrew University with an M.A. in Biblical Literature. Dave has spent the past 47 years in full time ministry as a pastor, Christian school director, and college professor. He currently serves with Frontier Ventures (formerly the US Center for World Mission) as a missions mobilizer for the northeast region of the United States. Dave lives in Catonsville, MD, with Kathy, his wife of 52 years. Dave and Kathy have three married children, Dan, Mike, and Becky. They are also the proud grandparents of 9 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. b

Dr. J. Julian Dangerfield is the Executive Director of Shalom Outreach Inc., a Christian based non-profit organization dedicated to achieving worldwide propagation of the essentials of the historic Christian faith. He proudly serves on the Board of Directors for Wycliffe Bible Translators and mentors pastors and leaders in several nations. He has a Bachelors degree in Business Management and has completed his Master of Arts degree in Leadership, Evangelism and Mobilization at Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina. He has also completed his doctoral studies at Virginia Union University with a focus on cross cultural ministry.
In the United States he has organized the mission efforts of over 25 churches, ministries and not for profit organizations, which has resulted in over 54,000 people coming to Christ.
Dr. Dangerfield's perspective is informed by over 29 years of ministry experience and he has traveled to over 40 countries executing strategies that lift humanity while expanding God’s Kingdom. b

Your Kingdom Come
Exploring God's purpose regarding evil: How God has accomplished a defeat of evil powers in order to open a season of history in which the nations can freely follow Christ. The kingdom of God as the destiny of all history. Christ's mission seeks a hindering of evil to bring about a sign of the coming peace of the kingdom of God. Our prayers contend with evil in order to bring about the transformation of society with Christ's kingdom in view.

Rev. James Cha was born in Korea, but grew up here in the US. He studied electrical engineering at Cornell University, and worked ten years as an engineer. In 2000 he and his wife, Faith, took their 3 kids to Central Asia, where they served ten years as church planting missionaries with Pioneers. They are now back in the US reaching out to the Muslims in the Washington, DC area. James & Faith are Washington DC Area Coordinators for Crescent Project. They also direct ESL ministry in Leesburg, VA. They have three adult children and one grandchild. James recently published a book about their missions journey - Fear Not: Living a Life of No Regrets. Steve King served as the Senior Pastor at Cherrydale Baptist Church from for 36 years( 1983-2019 ) and is now in a full time role as Senior Pastor Emeritus.
He served on the board of Pioneers International for 29 years, is part of the leadership of One Heart DC, hosted Renewing Hope radio program on WAVA 105.1 FM for 26 years, leads the "Band of Brothers" pastors fellowship and is author of Beware the Slow Leaks - eight ways ministry leaders can thrive and finish strong. He and his wife Mae Belle have been married for 46 years and have two sons, Joshua and Caleb and a granddaughter, Elise. b

Her focus is on mobilizing and training followers of Jesus to share Him with their Muslim friends. Her love for and appreciation of Muslims has taken her to Turkey 21 times. As a result, she has many Turkish friends both in Turkey and in the U.S. She is also known as the "fun captain" by her grandchildren and she loves spending time with them. b

Pioneers of the World Christian Movement

Robert DuHart Sr
Perspectives , Fort Washington MD
Robert Gregory DuHart Sr. is a father, husband, grandfather and Elder at Cherrydale Baptist Church, where he teaches a Sunday Class and is a long-time member of the CBC Finance committee. Greg also serves on the boards of NAAMC & Pioneers. Greg has mentored immigrant families through the asylum process here in the US, worked with missionaries in Turkey, where he used his skills as a certified ESL teacher to prepare Iranian Christians for their journey west as well as preaching the Gospel in Cappadocia the land of the cave churches. In India, along with East-West Ministries, his team instructed 75-80 Pastor on the Sword Method of sermon preparation. In Indonesia, as a board member of Pioneers USA he and his wife Kimberlia prayed, listened, evaluated, and encouraged the teams bringing the Gospel to the Indonesians. Greg serves as mobilizer, coordinator, and instructor for Perspectives USA and is passionate about cross cultural ministry as a way of racially reconciling the Church in North America. b

The Task Remaining

The basic minimal missiological achievement in every people group opens the way for working with God against every kind of evil so that the gospel of the kingdom is declared and displayed with clarity and power. Addie has served with Wycliffe since 2007. She was seconded to The Seed Co. since 2008 and served in NW Nigeria with the Luke Partnership cluster project as an Exegetical Facilitator of one of the twelve language groups in the project. The goal of the Luke Partnership project was to translate the Gospel of Luke and the script for the Jesus Film. After the Luke Partnership project was completed Addie continued to facilitate the language group in translating other New Testament books.
Addie is currently serving as Exegetical Facilitator working remotely and writing notes on translations for two language groups. Also, she is beginning to serve with Wycliffe as a Perspectives instructor.

Lesson 10
How Shall They Hear?
Culture and intercultural communication of the gospel. Communicating the gospel with relevance at the worldview level helps avoid syncretism (blending of cultural error with God?s truth) and also enables powerful movements of the gospel. Sensitive missionaries will look for ways that God has preserved or prepared people to hear the gospel, often finding redemptive analogies for God's truth.

Since his time in service, he has served in several international capacities, both as an employee of the Department of State and as a mission Director. He has served on the leadership team for the National African American Mission Conference, as an Area Mobilizer for Perspectives and Campus Minister for International Students Inc. She served with SEND International for 22 1/2 years involved in church planting: evangelism, disciple-making, mentoring, seminary teaching, leadership training in Taiwan & in China. She also served in various leadership roles throughout the years, ministered in Ukraine, Ulan Ude, Korea, Egypt, India, Uganda, Thailand and among the Afghans and Syrian Refugees in Lebanon, Jordan, Macedonia, Clarkston, GA.

Currently Glenn and June live in the Washington DC suburbs where Glenn continues to minister cross-culturally as a bishop in an Anabaptist network of churches and ministries in the Washington - Baltimore area and Lead Pastor of Capital Christian Fellowship, Lanham, MD an international congregation of over 20 nationalities. In 2022 Glenn became President of International Missions Association, which empowers global south Anabaptist groupings of churches to send among the least reached with the Good news of Jesus. b

The Reverend Dr. Casely B. Essamuah serves as Secretary to the Global Christian Forum. In this role, he offers executive and servant leadership to a Forum that brings together what we consider the 4 pillars and others, namely, the World Evangelical Alliance, the World Council of Churches, the Roman Catholic Church (through the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity), and the Pentecostal World Fellowship. From 2005 to 2018, he served as Global Missions Pastor at Bay Area Community Church, in Annapolis, MD, where he shepherded and supervised the church’s missions' work around the world, including missionaries in Poland, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Nigeria, and a hospital project in southern Sudan. He prepares church members to go as short-term missionaries to these places as well as to El Salvador, Poland, India, Malaysia, South Sudan, Mexico, Ghana and Uganda. From 1998 to June 2005, Dr. Essamuah served as the Minister of Missions at Boston’s historic Park Street Church where he oversaw a similar missions department. Dr. Essamuah did a Master of Divinity degree program at the Divinity School of Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass. And completed a Doctor of Theology at the School of Theology, Boston University, with a dissertation published as Genuinely Ghanaian: A History of the Methodist Church Ghana 1961-2000. A Ghanaian by birth and with ordination standing in the Methodist Church Ghana, he serves the various Ghana Methodist Churches in the USA/Canada in various executive and honorary capacities. He is also honorary secretary to the board of World Relief, the development organization of the National Association of Evangelicals. He is married to Dr. Angela Wakhweya from Uganda. They have three children, one daughter and two sons.
His favorite Bible verses is 1 Corinthians 15:10, I am what I am by the grace of god, and he prays that the grace which he has so lavishly received will not be in vain.
