Historical | Lessons 6-9
Discover your spiritual lineage as you learn that Christian history is wrought throughout with the immeasurable power of God as He makes His name known among the nations.
Cultural | Lessons 10-11
The peoples of the world come alive as we eventually see, through Christ Jesus, the expressions of the New Testament church thriving among every nation, tribe, people and language.

Find your place in God's story as there are endless opportunities to help complete the Great Commission.

Register at no cost to give the class a try. Everyone is welcome to hear the first 2 lessons before deciding to commit to the course.
The Perspectives Class offers 2 levels for completion:
Key Reading Level | $250
Prepare for great speakers and great material with light reading. Be challenged to consider your own role in world missions. This level requires about 1-2 hours of reading each week with little written homework. Five "Personal Reflections" assigned during the term will require about an hour each to complete.
Certificate Level | $250
This is the recommended level which provides a rich learning experience. It involves weekly homework assignments, five "Personal Reflections" and one research project due by the end of the course. This level requires about 4 hours of work per week.

Dave Shive is a 1968 graduate of the Washington Bible College, a 1972 graduate of Capital Bible Seminary with a Th.M. in New Testament Studies, and a 1994 graduate of Baltimore Hebrew University with an M.A. in Biblical Literature. Dave has spent the past 47 years in full time ministry as a pastor, Christian school director, and college professor. He currently serves with Frontier Ventures (formerly the US Center for World Mission) as a missions mobilizer for the northeast region of the United States. Dave lives in Catonsville, MD, with Kathy, his wife of 52 years. Dave and Kathy have three married children, Dan, Mike, and Becky. They are also the proud grandparents of 9 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. b

Lesson 3
Your Kingdom Come
Exploring God's purpose regarding evil: How God has accomplished a defeat of evil powers in order to open a season of history in which the nations can freely follow Christ. The kingdom of God as the destiny of all history. Christ's mission seeks a hindering of evil to bring about a sign of the coming peace of the kingdom of God. Our prayers contend with evil in order to bring about the transformation of society with Christ's kingdom in view.

Lyn has 25 years of overseas missions experience in Japan, The Netherlands, and Germany. Since 2013, she and her husband Tim have worked with international students from all over the world. Lyn's role is primarily at the University of Pennsylvania where she is a chaplain's associate. Over 70 nations have been represented in the Newbrander's home in Philadelphia. Lyn and Tim open their home and their hearts wide to students, many of whom consider them their family away from home. b

Unleashing the Gospel
The first followers of Jesus: obedient in costly, foundational ways. The climactic act of the book of Acts is the freeing of the gospel to be followed by Gentiles without Jewish traditions as a requirement. Chuck Walton
Wycliffe Bible Translators - Ret., Hatboro PA
Chuck Walton is a graduate of Cairn U, Wheaton College and Temple University. He and his wife Janice have served with Wycliffe Bible Translators for many years. Most of their career has been in the Philippines. They worked with two very different ethnic groups in there, the Itneg of Northern Luzon and the Sama of Pangutaran Island (a Muslim UPG) where they completed the translation of the New Testament.
In addition to translation Chuck had been involved in mission administration and has taught Linguistics at the Wycliffe affiliate school in Dallas, Texas, Alliance Biblical Seminary in Quezon City, Philippines and the University of North Dakota.
In 2013 Chuck retired but still does Mobilization for Wycliffe on a volunteer basis, and teaches ESL. They live in Newtown, PA (Bucks County).
Chuck has taught for Perspectives since 2006 and is a coordinator. b

Andrew Knisely is the Pastor of Elysburg Alliance Church and an Adjunct Professor at Crown College. His family served as missionaries in France from 2001-2005, and he helped Glenview Alliance to form a partnership with the Alliance Church in Burkina Faso, West Africa. He is a former member of the District Mission's Mobilization Task Force for Eastern PA District of the C&MA. He earned his Ed.D. in Adult Learning from Penn State in 2011, and holds masters in Education from Shippensburg University and Divinity from Alliance Theological Seminary. He has been married to Diane since 1992, and they have two children. b

Lesson 10
How Shall They Hear?
Culture and intercultural communication of the gospel. Communicating the gospel with relevance at the worldview level helps avoid syncretism (blending of cultural error with God?s truth) and also enables powerful movements of the gospel. Sensitive missionaries will look for ways that God has preserved or prepared people to hear the gospel, often finding redemptive analogies for God's truth.

Craig Parker is the city leader for the Navigators in Boston, seeking to transform the city through life-to-life discipleship.
Craig has worked for the Navigators for 37 years, with previous staff assignments in New Hampshire, Germany, and Virginia. He served as campus director at Boston University for 7 years, and at Dartmouth College for 17 years. As founding board member and former chairman of the board of directors of the Lwala Community Alliance, he has engaged in international development in western Kenya. He has also worked among Roma people in Croatia, helping to create a long term Croatian partnership with the Northeast Collegiate Navigators.

Earlando Thomas

An Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Rochester, Dr. Thomas is board certified in Obstetrics/Gynecology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. He has been practicing medicine for the past three decades, in Jamaica, England, and the United States, and has always viewed his vocation as a calling to Workplace Ministry. His lifelong passion for Medical and Evangelical Missions has taken him on short term mission trips to Haiti, Nigeria, and Jamaica. In 2005, Dr. Thomas co-founded the New Hope Evangelical Church in Rochester, New York. He is currently a member of New Hope Free Methodist Church and a Conference Ministerial Candidate (CMC) on the ordination track in the Free Methodist Denomination. Married to Marjorie since 1986, they have two grown children.
