      Paul and his wife, Linda, were missionaries with the Presbyterian Church (USA) between 1995-2004, working with a British eye hospital in Uzbekistan. They also worked in Brazil, teaching Bible and Theology at the Missionary Training Center, in Natal. Paul now leads the missions and outreach ministry of First Presbyterian Bonita Springs, 46 mission and development projects, including projects in Brazil, Guatemala, Bulgaria, Moldova, Turkey, India, Ethiopia and South Sudan. He earned a MDiv from Reformed Theological Sem and his DMin from Pittsburgh Theological Sem. But Paul and Linda attribute their passion for the globe to Perspectives ’89, in Wichita, KS.

Mark has ministered in over 130 nations and he, Janet, and their youngest child lived in Harbin, China teaching English and planted a church among unreached people in 2008/09.       Steven Masood became a follower of Jesus in April 1973 in Karachi, Pakistan from a Muslim background. His testimony is chronicled in Into the Light. Steven earned a PhD from the London School of Theology thru Brunel University, London, on Islam and Christianity. He has spent 30+ years studying and working in Christian-Muslim relations and has taught Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim relations as a visiting lecturer in Christian institutions in Britain and the Far East. Steven also lectures in conferences and churches on varied subjects including the integrity of Christian and Muslim scriptures, and sharing the Gospel of Jesus.       Janet served as an Alliance missionary in Indonesia for 40 years with her husband, Bill Kuhns, in teaching, speaking and counseling ministries. They developed the TEE program for West Kalimantan, Indonesia while teaching at the Immanuel Bible School. Later they moved to teach at Jaffray Theological Seminary in Makassar, the oldest evangelical seminary in that large country. After her husband Bill died Janet became Minister of Discipleship at The Village Church in Fort Myers, FL for 5 years. It was there, as leader of a bereavement support group, that she met her present husband, David Howard, who had a major role in the development of the Perspectives course.

      Russ grew up in southeastern Massachusetts. He attended Nyack College and Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, NY. He and his wife, Laurie, had their first pastorate near Pittsburgh. In 1986, after a year of French language study in Paris, Russ and Laurie worked in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso for six years after which they returned to Pittsburgh ministering in two different churches for 15 years. Since 2010 Russ has served as the Faith Relations Coordinator.

      Dave directs Global Opportunities (GO) (www.globalopps.org), equipping tentmakers—workplace Christians who intentionally work in other cultures to bring people to Christ and disciple them. GO helps 100s of go-ers from +30 countries go to +80 countries in many professions, including business. GO also assists Tentmaking agencies in Norway, Finland, Brazil, Venezuela, among others. For 16 years Dave developed students and staff for campus ministry with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF), eventually serving as Mid-Atlantic Regional Director. Both he and Kendra share a life-long commitment to the Great Commission. They spent one memorable summer visiting IVCF sister movements in Ghana, Zambia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. After InterVarsity, Dave earned an M. Div. at Fuller Seminary, while serving as Minister to Small Groups and Singles in So. CA. David and Kendra live in Ft. Myers. They have 3 children. Elizabeth serves in IVCF, Jonathan practices law for HUD in Washington, DC, and Nathaniel works in a bike store in Berkeley, CA and rides competitively.

      How Shall They Hear?

      Culture and intercultural communication of the gospel. Communicating the gospel with relevance at the worldview level helps avoid syncretism (blending of cultural error with God?s truth) and also enables powerful movements of the gospel. Sensitive missionaries will look for ways that God has preserved or prepared people to hear the gospel, often finding redemptive analogies for God's truth.

      Ted Esler is the President of Missio Nexus, an association of agencies and churches representing over 30,000 Great Commission workers worldwide. A Minnesota native, Ted worked in the computer industry before becoming a church planter in Sarajevo, Bosnia, during the 1990’s. He is the author of the book, "Overwhelming Minority," about their family's ministry in Bosnia. In 2000, Ted became the Canadian director of Pioneers and three years later moved to Orlando to join Pioneers USA’s leadership team. He was appointed the President of Missio Nexus in 2015. Ted has BS in Computer Science and Speech Communication (Mankato State University, 1985), an MTS in Theology (Heritage Seminary, 2002), and a PhD in Intercultural Studies (Fuller Theological Seminary, 2012). Ted is married to Annette and they have five children. Ted loves sailing, Crossfit, bikes, plays bass, and enjoys eating ethnic foods from around the world. Ted is a part of a church planting network in Orlando called "The Living Room," and serves as a board member for a couple of ministry organizations.

She has traveled to 57 countries and spoken in many of these. She and her husband Woody have two sons, both of whom currently serve overseas.

      Look beyond institutional features of churches to understand churches as dynamic movements of Christ Himself being followed. Such a view of churches as organic, living things opens up the practicality of seeing them multiply rapidly as movements and also flourish in society bearing the fruit of social transformation. Churches as counter-communities, acting as salt and light, bringing change to their cultures. How movements multiply by connecting with entire families and larger social structures.
