    Frontier Ventures (formerly US Center for World Mission), Catonsville MD

    Dave Shive is a 1968 graduate of the Washington Bible College, a 1972 graduate of Capital Bible Seminary with a Th.M. in New Testament Studies, and a 1994 graduate of Baltimore Hebrew University with an M.A. in Biblical Literature. Dave has spent the past 47 years in full time ministry as a pastor, Christian school director, and college professor. He currently serves with Frontier Ventures (formerly the US Center for World Mission) as a missions mobilizer for the northeast region of the United States. Dave lives in Catonsville, MD, with Kathy, his wife of 52 years. Dave and Kathy have three married children, Dan, Mike, and Becky. They are also the proud grandparents of 9 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.

    Rebecca Kim has been involved in Perspectives on the World Christian Movement for 20 years. She has coordinated and taught classes in the Chicago and Boston area. She has a passion to see God's glory throughout all the earth. Besides mobilization, she has gone on numerous short-term trips and spent a year in India with her family. She has also had extensive involvement with internationals and immigrants/refugees. Currently, she and her husband live in South Hamilton, MA with their two wonderful daughters. She homeschools and serves as the New England Regional Director for Perspectives.

    Exploring God's purpose regarding evil: How God has accomplished a defeat of evil powers in order to open a season of history in which the nations can freely follow Christ. The kingdom of God as the destiny of all history. Christ's mission seeks a hindering of evil to bring about a sign of the coming peace of the kingdom of God. Our prayers contend with evil in order to bring about the transformation of society with Christ's kingdom in view.

    In 1978 Don graduated from Penn State with an advanced degree in engineering and went on to work for the university part time while being heavily involved with CRU. In 1980, after taking the Perspectives class, he took a position with CRU serving in Guam, then the Philippines and finally Japan. He worked in community, university and administrative ministries and for a while was an acting national director. In 1983 he returned to the U.S. to work with Frontier Ventures, first in mobilization and then as a division manager. He and his wife Anne moved to the Eastern Regional Office in 1992 where they have been involved in administration, mobilization (coordinating numerous Perspectives classes) and international outreach. Don has a Master’s degree in Theology. They have two children and six grandchildren.

    Jim has served on the full time missionary staff of Cru for 44 years. Over the years, Jim has directed the Hampton Beach Summer Project for 15 years and has helped initiate ministries in Japan, the former Soviet Union, Egypt, and throughout North Africa and the Middle East. Jim's favorite lessons to teach in the Perspectives course are Lessons #4 & #5. Jim has been married to his wife, Barbara, since 1979. They currently live in Malvern, PA. They have three grown children, Becky, Mike, and Heather who are now serving as missionaries, also.

    David was born and grew up in Tanzania, the son of pioneer Mennonite missionaries. He and his wife Grace have served overseas 20 years in Somalia, Kenya, and Lithuania. In the US David has served in missions adminsitration, pastoring, and teaching. He is a teacher, author, and preacher. His special interest is communicating the Gospel in a world of religious pluralism with special focus on Islam. He is currently a Global Consultant and a member at Mountville Mennonite Church.

    Chuck Walton is a graduate of Cairn U, Wheaton College and Temple University. He and his wife Janice have served with Wycliffe Bible Translators for many years. Most of their career has been in the Philippines. They worked with two very different ethnic groups in there, the Itneg of Northern Luzon and the Sama of Pangutaran Island (a Muslim UPG) where they completed the translation of the New Testament. In addition to translation Chuck had been involved in mission administration and has taught Linguistics at the Wycliffe affiliate school in Dallas, Texas, Alliance Biblical Seminary in Quezon City, Philippines and the University of North Dakota. In 2013 Chuck retired but still does Mobilization for Wycliffe on a volunteer basis, and teaches ESL. They live in Newtown, PA (Bucks County). Chuck has taught for Perspectives since 2006 and is a coordinator.

    Jan serves as a passionate advocate for those who have been suffering in some of the most harsh, volatile, & impoverished regions of the world. For 18 years, she focused her efforts on caring for the "absolute poor" in Africa's toughest regions, for 6 years she served the "urban poor" in the US's poorest city, and she now works fulltime resettling the "sudden poor": refugees fleeing dangerous, war-torn places, coming to our shores for safety. Along with a colleague, in 2007 she founded Compassion Corps, a charitable nonprofit headquartered in Glen Mills, PA, intent on alleviating suffering and advancing economic development. Jan served as Executive Director of Compassion Corps for 10 years, during that time mobilizing over 30 short-term teams for service in Africa while furthering Christian community development initiatives in 6 countries. She still serves CC as President and international social enterprise consultant, however in fall 2016 she joined the team of UrbanPromise International, initially serving as Exec. Assistant to the President, and then as Exec. Director of UrbanPromise Community Development Corporation until mid-2022. Responding to the urgent need for help in caring for thousands of Ukrainian, refugees entering the US, Jan recently joined the staff of Bethany Christian Services in Wilmington, DE, serving as a Community Engagement Specialist, primarily focusing her efforts on mobilizing sponsorship & care for Ukrainian refugees. Jan holds a BA in French from American University and a Masters in Nonprofit Management from Eastern University. Over the past two decades, Jan has gained field experience in community development and discernment of best practices in holistic programs in Africa. She has endeavored to pursue expansion of ministry capacity and impact through the means of social enterprise abroad as well as in the US.
