Aiken Perspectives: Perspectives on the World Christian Movement is a 15 week discipleship course that will change the way you view the world around you. Perspectives will open your eyes to the heart and purpose of God, and how you can take part in His work all over the world, from the urban and suburban streets of America to the rain forests and deserts of distant lands. Whether single, married, student, homemaker, professional, retired, involved in apartment ministry, homeless ministry, youth, men or women's ministry, you will explore God's heart for every tribe, tongue, and language He created.

You are invited to be a part of this unique course: Perspectives on the World Christian Movement. It is an adventure of a lifetime taking you deeper into the Bible than you've ever gone before. After this course, your life will never be the same.

      The Living God is a Missionary God

      Rev. Mason and his wife Kimberly served as missionaries in Liberia in the 90s, teaching in high school and Bible college, counseling, and supervising field staff. Upon their return to Atlanta, Glenn was appointed Executive Director of their agency, Carver Int’l Missions. Glenn’s main role is motivating the Church toward global engagement. Glenn earned his BA in Psychology and Sociology from UPenn, and has done grad studies at Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia. The Masons have two adult daughters, Eliana and Calin. Glenn and Kim attend Fellowship Bible Church in Roswell GA.

      Your Kingdom Come

      Exploring God's purpose regarding evil: How God has accomplished a defeat of evil powers in order to open a season of history in which the nations can freely follow Christ. The kingdom of God as the destiny of all history. Christ's mission seeks a hindering of evil to bring about a sign of the coming peace of the kingdom of God. Our prayers contend with evil in order to bring about the transformation of society with Christ's kingdom in view.

      Dr. Dunn became pastor of Millbrook in 2014. Prior to Millbrook, he pastored North Star Community Church in Fort Lauderdale. He has also served churches in Texas and Florida. His personal ministry motto is “To know the life of Christ and to make Him known.” Pastor Dunn is a graduate of Liberty University and Southwestern Baptist Seminary. Dr. Dunn and his wife, Jamie, have three children, Brenden, Reese, and Indee.

      Peggy is Academic Dean and VP of Coastal Georgia School of Missions. CGSM is the final phase of a two phase vision that focuses on mobilizing African Americans for missions. She has trained leaders in the US, in Kenya, Nigeria, Togo, and Ghana. Her focus is mission mobilization and disciple-making.

      Unleashing the Gospel

      The first followers of Jesus: obedient in costly, foundational ways. The climactic act of the book of Acts is the freeing of the gospel to be followed by Gentiles without Jewish traditions as a requirement. A foundational act of God which speaks to the situations where the gospel is hindered today. Strategic suffering and apostolic passion.

He has spoken and served throughout the U.S. He has spoken and served in many countries over the years and traveled to every continent except Antarctica. Gene is the Associate Pastor of TrueNorth Church in North Augusta, SC. He is the author of 4 books, Discovering God's Plan, The God Robbers, Laughing With Sarah, and Timely Words. He is a graduate of USC-Aiken and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Beth have 2 adult children and 5 grandchildren.

      Salem Church, McDonough GA

      Scott and his wife, Chris, have been married 40 years and are blessed with two grown children and one grandson. Scott completed a BSBA from Mars Hill University (NC), a Master of Divinity from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY., and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Seminary in 1995 in Evangelism and Church Growth. After serving as a Lead Pastor for 34 years he has now made the transition to invest 100% of his ministry in Missions as the Pastor of Global Missions at Salem Church in McDonough, Georgia. He is personally involved in mission partnerships on four continents and serves as the Co- Director for Mustard Seed International. He has led 69 short-term mission trips to Asia, Africa, Europe, and Central America. Scott also teaches 6 Perspectives on the World Christian Movement lessons and seeks to weave stories and experiences from the front lines into the time-tested practical principles of the world of missions. He loves helping to mobilize churches and individuals to catch God's vision for the world and to develop ongoing mission partnerships between local churches and believers here with indigenous partners in unreached areas. He loves to teach God's Word in its simplicity and power and has a passion to reach the unreached and to see believers grow in Christ and become pioneers of Kingdom growth.

      Ed Smither is Professor of Intercultural Studies, History of Global Christianity and Dean of the College of Intercultural Studies at Columbia International University. Ed spent 14 years in intercultural ministry in France, North Africa, and the USA. He has authored, edited, or translated 11 books, including Christian Mission: A Concise Global History, Mission as Hospitality, and Mission in the Early Church. Ed is married to Shawn and they have 3 kids (Brennan, Emma, and Eve). Ed enjoys biking the backroads of Columbia, following Clemson football, and listening to modern rock and old hymns.

      As a missional thinker and practitioner, Dr. Glenn Hatcher and his wife Phyllis have spent 35 years in inter-denominational faith ministry living in the US, East Africa and Mediterranean Basin teaching and training leaders. Glenn has discipled students on university campuses in the US, trained pastors to develop churches throughout East Africa and equipped emerging leaders in the underground Church in Islamic Africa. While still having a passion for cross-cultural ministry, the Hatchers returned to the US in 2006 to train new missionaries with Globe International, a mission agency in Pensacola. Glenn continues his ministry of people development as a certified leadership coach and founder of Eikon Associates. He is the author of "Why God Thinks He Can Use You." Glenn and Phyllis have two adult children, Zachary and Jane.

      Trevor and his wife, Katie and their three children live in Columbia, South Carolina where Trevor serves as the Managing Director of the Zwemer Center for Muslim Studies. Prior to coming to the Zwemer Center Trevor and his wife served with Youth With a Mission for seven years. During their missionary service, they worked in a 100% Muslim country in South Asia. He is also a PhD candidate and his research interest is in Muslim Christian relations.

      How Shall They Hear?

      Culture and intercultural communication of the gospel. Communicating the gospel with relevance at the worldview level helps avoid syncretism (blending of cultural error with God?s truth) and also enables powerful movements of the gospel. Sensitive missionaries will look for ways that God has preserved or prepared people to hear the gospel, often finding redemptive analogies for God's truth.

      Building Bridges of Love

      The incarnation as a model of missionary humility. How missionaries can enter appropriate roles in order to form relationships of trust and respect to develop a sense of belonging, and thus to communicate with credibility for understanding. Explore the intricacy of identification in another culture. Explore the even greater complexity of presenting identity with integrity in a globalized, terrorized, pluralized world. Recognizing the dynamics of social structure in order to initiate growing movements of ongoing communication throughout the society.

      Dennis and his wife Nancy served as linguists and Bible translators among the 20,000 Duna people of Papua New Guinea. After devising an alphabet for this previously unwritten language they produced primers and readers, teaching many to read their own language. They then translated the first portions of God's Word into the Duna language. Several thousand Duna came to faith in Christ and today there are many churches among these people.

      The Spontaneous Multiplication of Churches

      Look beyond institutional features of churches to understand churches as dynamic movements of Christ Himself being followed. Such a view of churches as organic, living things opens up the practicality of seeing them multiply rapidly as movements and also flourish in society bearing the fruit of social transformation. Churches as counter-communities, acting as salt and light, bringing change to their cultures. How movements multiply by connecting with entire families and larger social structures.

      Global Frontier Missions, Lilburn GA

      Grant Haynes founded Global Frontier Missions in 2000 while church planting among indigenous groups in southern Mexico. His passion is to see as many individuals and churches as possible praying, giving, welcoming, and going to the least reached people groups of the earth. Grant spent 14 years serving in Oaxaca, Mexico with his wife and three children church planting, hosting short-term mission groups, running an indigenous Bible school, and starting a missionary training school for North Americans. Grant now serves in Clarkston, GA, known as the most diverse square mile in America, reaching refugees from Iraq, Burma, Bhutan, Nepal, Somalia, Ethiopia, and many other nations.

      Royal Agape Int'l Ministry, Valparaiso IN

      Abraham Thomas founded Agape Royal Ministries in 1993. Abraham came to faith as boy, when his Mom led him to the Lord. After graduation from Bible College Abraham began his ministry of preaching and teaching. Abraham’s wife’s family were the first converts to an Evangelical faith in their village. They were ostracized and ridiculed, but the church they established is still growing today. Agape Royal has planted 400 churches, establish 16 children’s homes and begun an accredited Bible College. Their goal is to "Reach the Unreached". The Thomas’ have 3 children, Asher Finney and twins Achsa & Ann, all born again and baptized.

      Chiu Hea loves to teach in a way that displays the power of God in lives released for God’s glory. After 10 years in Pasadena, CA, at Frontier Ventures, she and Mark moved to Atlanta to raise Brandon and Kimberly. From 2000-2015, they invested in Perspectives, mobilized many to serve refugees from Burma, Nepal, Somalia, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Iraq. They also provided homestay to international students learning English in an immersion setting. Recently, after 4 years in Jordan and Malaysia (counseling missionaries and serving refugees), they returned to Atlanta as empty-nesters, encouraging others to go deep with God. They enjoy caring for international students through iFace Ministries, and bringing people together around themes of global significance.
