WHAT is Perspectives? This
non-denominational course presents the biblical, historical, and cultural aspects of God’s heart for the nations. Perspectives has a proven track record of equipping the people of God for strategic participation in His plan. We encourage
anyone who is serious about gaining a deeper understanding of God’s ultimate
purpose in the world to attend. In the words of a Talbot County Perspectives student: “I
learned to worship God by loving the world and its peoples, tongues,
tribes, and nations like Jesus does, and to find His personal plan of
action for my life of mission with Him. I now see the news and current
events in a different way, from God’s point of view, and understand that
today is an exciting time to live.”
“All
fifteen speakers during the fifteen weeks taught me different
perspectives of how God has worked through the Bible -- through common
people -- and how He wants to work today -- through us.”
In the words of a Talbot County Perspectives pastor:
In short, Perspectives has forever changed how I view God's heart for the people of the nations, even those whom we call "foreigners", "aliens", "immigrants" or whatever you choose to call "them". I see "them" as opportunities to reach another people group right in my own back yard, to learn their language, to eat their food, and to share my Jesus with them. Yes, Perspectives is about global opportunities which drove me to go on a trip to Kazakhstan but also drove me to the "foreigner" in my own land.

Lesson 10
How Shall They Hear?
Culture and intercultural communication of the gospel. Communicating the gospel with relevance at the worldview level helps avoid syncretism (blending of cultural error with God?s truth) and also enables powerful movements of the gospel. Sensitive missionaries will look for ways that God has preserved or prepared people to hear the gospel, often finding redemptive analogies for God's truth.

Steve Shive
Living out the life of Christ, White Hall MD
I am often reminded of the Father's desire to glorify his son, Jesus. This, and the vision, from Revelation 7 of every tribe, language, people, and nation standing before the throne and the Lamb gives the impetus to tell God's story to those around us.
Some may go, some might stay, and others support, but God works it all together. My interest is to see all Christians understand and be challenged to find out how we fit into this vision. b

The Spontaneous Multiplication of Churches
Look beyond institutional features of churches to understand churches as dynamic movements of Christ Himself being followed. Such a view of churches as organic, living things opens up the practicality of seeing them multiply rapidly as movements and also flourish in society bearing the fruit of social transformation. Churches as counter-communities, acting as salt and light, bringing change to their cultures. How movements multiply by connecting with entire families and larger social structures.
