You have an epic role to play. You're about to experience God's heart for all peoples and encounter the momentum of the World Christian Movement. Perspectives will open the eyes of your heart with fresh knowledge and understanding of God's unchanging purposes and why they're relevant to your life. 

Whether you are single, married, student, homemaker, professional or retired, and whatever your current engagement in the church or its ministries, you will be drawn into exploring God's heart to restore His Glory among All Nations, ransoming His people from every tribe, language and culture!  (Rev 5:9)

Perspectives allows you to hear from 15 different instructors over the course of 15 weeks. All of them excellent and all of them passionate about this course. Some rank among the most highly-regarded missions leaders and mentors in the world and many will travel great distances to join us. They will challenge and inspire you with their wisdom and experience, opening your eyes to a new vision of God's mercy, greatness and love.

No matter who you are or what you do, Perspectives will help you learn how to live for God's Kingdom.

      Outrageous Love, Choctaw OK

      John Zumwalt is the Cross Cultural Coach for the innovative organization, Outrageous Love. After serving as a missionary among the unreached Minnan he returned to America and for over 22 years served as the founder and Director of the Missionary Training Institute, Beautiful Feet Boot Camp. He has trained over 300 Career Missionaries. He has a Doctorate of Divinity from International University for Graduate Studies. John has authored the book, Passion for the Heart of God and travels widely, preaching and holding seminars, raising up activist to go to the ends of the earth. John and his wife, Jamie, also pastor a church in a “red light district” of Oklahoma City. They have five children, Jessica, Josiah, Jael, Jewel and James.

      Mandate for the Nations

      Jesus shows great strategic interest in Gentiles; wise strategic focus by initiating a global mission on a few disciples among the Hebrew people. The Great Commission and the ways of God's sending in relational power. Dealing with the ideas of pluralism (all religions the same) and universalism (all persons saved).

      The Traveling Team, Conway AR

      Hudson Smith is from the United States, and grew up in Arkansas, earning a degree in history from the University of Arkansas. For 10 years, he served as the Director of Operations for The Traveling Team. The Traveling Team is a mobilization organization that recruits college students from all major US universities toward Christ's global cause. During his time on staff, he traveled to 49 states and 3 countries and spoke to over 40,000 college students, sharing God's heart for the world. He also spoke extensively at Perspectives classes and missions conferences for churches. In 2021, he and his family moved to Dubai, UAE to serve as the Director of Operations for Redeemer Church of Dubai. He has Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary.

      Your Kingdom Come

      Exploring God's purpose regarding evil: How God has accomplished a defeat of evil powers in order to open a season of history in which the nations can freely follow Christ. The kingdom of God as the destiny of all history. Christ's mission seeks a hindering of evil to bring about a sign of the coming peace of the kingdom of God. Our prayers contend with evil in order to bring about the transformation of society with Christ's kingdom in view.

      Elmbrook, Brookfield WI

      Matthew is a church planter, pastor, mobilizer and trainer. Currently he serves as the pastor of Mission for Elmbrook Church, a role where he is responsible for almost 80 field workers spread across the globe. Before that he and his family lived in Siberia for almost a decade helping start churches and encourage leaders. They returned to the states in 2004 and planted a multi-site church in Washington County, Wisconsin. He also currently serves as the Wisconsin area mobilizer for Perspectives and loves seeing people take steps of involvement in God’s mission. Matthew and Kari were married in 1994 and have four children. Matthew is a hack triathlete, which means he enjoys biking and swimming, and endures running.

      Troy Loether is the Site Pastor for Kettlebrook Church at the West Bend, Wisconsin location. He served as a Professor of Record for a handful of Perspectives courses and has served to equip and empower the local church to fulfill the global mandate of making disciples for over a decade. He has a passion for making disciples both locally and globally. Troy is married to Stephanie and is father to Tianna, Chloe, Isaac, and Ephraim and foster dad to Tiara. International partnerships have blessed him with the opportunity to spend time in Rwanda, Congo, Montenegro, Kosovo,Russia and Chad. Troy teaches on the Biblical theology of missions in the lesson "Mandate for the Nations."

      Nathan Allen is the Global Missions pastor at New Heights Church in Fayetteville, AR and the Director of Global Outfitters.       Unleashing the Gospel

      The first followers of Jesus: obedient in costly, foundational ways. The climactic act of the book of Acts is the freeing of the gospel to be followed by Gentiles without Jewish traditions as a requirement. A foundational act of God which speaks to the situations where the gospel is hindered today. Strategic suffering and apostolic passion.

      Dr. Nabeel T. Jabbour was born in Syria and grew up in Lebanon. He lived with his family in Egypt for 15 years before moving to Colorado Springs, his current home where he works with The Navigators. With a doctorate in Islamics, Dr. Jabbour is a professor and frequent lecturer at seminaries and churches around the world.       Sean and his wife Meredith have spent the last decade traveling the entire Continental U.S. casting mission vision with Traveling Team. They have a two year old daughter named Haven. Sean graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Communication. He has short term exposure in India and Indonesia. Sean continues to travel nation wide speaking to students and churches. When not speaking he serves alongside The Traveling Team Leadership as the Director of Ministry Advancement. He is working on a Masters Degree from Reformed Theological Seminary.

      Today we anchor the race by continuing what others have begun. It's a day of finishing. All the more reason to learn the wisdom and the heart of ordinary people who did extraordinary things in earlier generations. Reading the writings of William Carey and other leaders to discern what these people have left to us. Exploring the contribution of women in missions throughout the centuries.

      Lee Heyward is the Founder and President of BrookLink Inc., a not-for-profit ministry whose purpose is to equip and empower national church leaders to lead and grow healthy reproducing churches. Prior to launching BrookLink, Lee served as a church planter and Senior Pastor of Northbrook Church in Richfield, Wisconsin. A graduate of Furman University, Lee also holds Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. Known for keenly unpacking Biblical truth in a practical and engaging style, Lee has traveled to more than 40 countries and is a frequent speaker at pastors conferences, college campuses and retreats. Lee and his wife Terry reside in Germantown, Wisconsin and have four adult children and three grandchildren.

      How Shall They Hear?

      Culture and intercultural communication of the gospel. Communicating the gospel with relevance at the worldview level helps avoid syncretism (blending of cultural error with God?s truth) and also enables powerful movements of the gospel. Sensitive missionaries will look for ways that God has preserved or prepared people to hear the gospel, often finding redemptive analogies for God's truth.

Previous to his current role, he served for 13 years on the pastoral staff of Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin overseeing Elmbrook’s global and local mission outreach.

      Paul and Lisa Sinclair served with United World Mission for 15 years both in Mali, West Africa and in organizational leadership in North America. Lisa has both an M.A. in Missions and a Masters degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Paul has a MDiv in Missions and both have Doctor of Ministry degrees through Columbia International Seminary, Columbia, SC. Paul has also served as the Pastor for Urban and Prison Ministries, of Elmbrook Church, Brookfield, WI., and later Missions Pastor of Northbrook Church and Eastbrook Church, Milwaukee. Lisa has had clinical experience as a nurse practitioner in the USA, in addition to having had a private practice as a psychiatric practitioner. Other areas of the world where the Sinclairs have ministered include Senegal, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, Congo-DRC, Congo-Brazzaville, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, Turkey, and other countries in South Asia and the Horn of Africa Additionally, Paul and Lisa are engaged in prison ministry in Wisconsin. They have three adult children and six grandchildren. Lisa has recently published a book, Sexuality for Christian Leaders, that especially targets missionaries.

      Look beyond institutional features of churches to understand churches as dynamic movements of Christ Himself being followed. Such a view of churches as organic, living things opens up the practicality of seeing them multiply rapidly as movements and also flourish in society bearing the fruit of social transformation. Churches as counter-communities, acting as salt and light, bringing change to their cultures. How movements multiply by connecting with entire families and larger social structures.

      Steven and his wife, Joy, lived as missionaries among Muslims in SE Asia for 21 years. In 2015, they returned to the US and reside in Carol Stream where they continue as DMM Practitioner-Trainers training and coaching church-planters globally while also engaging the Muslim population here in Chicagoland. Steven & Joy have four children. The serve with the organization New Generations and lead a city-wide partnership called Ephesus Catalytic Partnership-Chicago.

      Ron Lindsey, is the President of Ethnos360 Bible Institute and speaks with first hand experience regarding church planting among unreached people groups in remote environments. Ron and his family lived with a remote people in the jungles of Papua New Guinea for 18 years. Ron's experiences include jungle airstrip construction, language and culture acquisition, chronological approach to church planting and, Bible translation. Currently Ron serves as the President of Ethnos360 Bible Institute, in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Ron and Carrie's sons have completed missionary training with one serving in Prague, Czech Republic.       Paul Borthwick, along with his wife Christie, serves on the staff of Development Associates International (www.daintl.org) focusing on leadership development in the Majority World. As such, they spend two or more months every year in overseas ministry. In addition, Paul teaches missions at Gordon College (Wenham, MA), serves as an Urbana/Missions Associate with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, and mobilizes others for cross-cultural missions. Rick Warren, author of Purpose-Driven Life cites his books A Mind for Missions and How to be a World-Class Christian as books that should be read by every Christian.
