David has led more than a dozen trips to Central America doing evangelism, medical and orphan care, firefighter training and church planting.     Originally from West Texas, Blu became a follower of Jesus at nine years old. He and his wife, Darbi, served more than a decade in Zambia, Africa-first with the International Mission Board and later helping to start an orphanage. Blu & Darbi have three children - Caedmon (15), Cambree (13), and Cason (11). In 2018, they felt God calling them back to Texas to minister to their own people. Blu currently lives in Brownwood, Texas, where he runs his family's construction business and serves as youth and music pastor at Rocky Creek Baptist Church.

Jon has a passion for seeing local churches and ordinary Christians step into strategic roles in the global missions enterprise. Jon is an ordained minister, holds a PhD from the VU University in Amsterdam, and did post-graduate studies at the International Baptist Theological Seminary in Prague.     How Shall They Hear?

    Culture and intercultural communication of the gospel. Communicating the gospel with relevance at the worldview level helps avoid syncretism (blending of cultural error with God?s truth) and also enables powerful movements of the gospel. Sensitive missionaries will look for ways that God has preserved or prepared people to hear the gospel, often finding redemptive analogies for God's truth.

    Sunny Hong

    Wycliffe Bible Translators, Dallas TX

    Born in South Korea, Sunny Hong came to the US in 1983. She was employed in the computer software profession and was active in a local church. At that time Sunny was seeking for God’s call as to how she could be involved in missions. Eventually she felt God’s calling to the ministry of Wycliffe Bible translators. She joined Wycliffe in 1994 and worked as a mobilizer for Koreans in the US and Canada for 12 years. She then was sent to the Philippines to work as a mobilization consultant for the Wycliffe Asia and Pacific areas. While in the Philippines, she sensed God redirecting her ministry to missiology/anthropology. She pursued an intercultural studies Ph.D. program at Biola and after completing these studies, started working as a senior intercultural consultant at SIL International which includes teaching at Dallas International University, in Dallas, TX.

    Refugee Language Project, Amarillo TX

    Ryan served as a linguist with Wycliffe Bible Translators for 9 years, working with a previously undescribed language in the country of Papua New Guinea. In 2017, he founded the Refugee Language Project, a non-profit organization based out of Amarillo, Texas. Ryan holds a PhD in linguistics from James Cook University in Cairns, Australia. I have been married to Terry (Halford) Singletary since 1978. We have 3 adult children. We spent 12 years in the pastorate in New Braunfels, TX at Lakeside Baptist Church. I took Perspectives in 1991 and then sensed the call to full-time missions in 1992. Our family spent 10 years among the Karamojong of Uganda, East Africa. She lived in Central Asia for ten years, where she planted churches among three people groups, two of whom are Muslim. She earned an MA and PhD in Linguistics (i.e. Bible Translation) from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has published numerous books and articles in missions.
