What? Perspectives on the World Christian Movement is a 16 week life and learning opportunity that
will open your eyes and heart to the wisdom of God, and how you can participate
in making Him known, from the urban America to distant lands. God wants you on His team. He has already prepared you.
Perspectives presents articles from a fantastic array of pastors,
theologians, international missiologists, and mobilizers that will challenge
and inspire you. Additionally, 15 outstanding speakers will share from their experiences and
teach God’s perspectives on the Biblical, Historical, Cultural & Strategic plan
for pursuing His mission.
Who? Whether you are single, married, a student, a
homemaker, a professional or retired, Perspectives will bless and challenge
your life and direction, and make sense of where He has brought you thus far.

Class Enrollment Levels
First Night Free: If you are curious about
Perspectives, you can enroll and attend the first night for free. Watch 3 minute promotional video here.
Key Reading Level: $270 This level requires about 1-2 hours of reading per
week with no written homework. There are five "Personal Reflections"
assigned during the course which would require approximately an hour each to
complete. Missed classes can be supplemented by the online video lesson.
Certificate Level: $270 This level is recommended for those who seek to gain a
deeper understanding of the topics. It involves weekly homework
assignments, five "Personal Reflections," and one research
project due at the end of the course. This level requires about 4-6 hours
of work per week.
Credit Level: $550 / 3 credit hours A more in-depth study with 3 semester credit hours. More

Mike began his ministry by pastoring a local church in Los Angeles, then spent several years on the mission field in Mexico, where he started a training ministry called 'El Puente', which served as a bridge to equip short term missionaries and enable the local Body of Christ in Mexico to become self supporting apart from American funds.
In 2008, Mike planted a church in Los Angeles, CA (Redeemer), and teaches Biblical Theology & Church Planting at Radius International, a 12 month training program in Tijuana, designed to equip missionaries to the unreached with the cultural, linguistic and Biblical skills necessary. In 2018, he transitioned out of local church ministry to start The Family Table, a non profit mobilizing churches to care for vulnerable children in the foster care system. b

Your Kingdom Come
Exploring God's purpose regarding evil: How God has accomplished a defeat of evil powers in order to open a season of history in which the nations can freely follow Christ. The kingdom of God as the destiny of all history. Christ's mission seeks a hindering of evil to bring about a sign of the coming peace of the kingdom of God. Our prayers contend with evil in order to bring about the transformation of society with Christ's kingdom in view.

Unleashing the Gospel
The first followers of Jesus: obedient in costly, foundational ways. The climactic act of the book of Acts is the freeing of the gospel to be followed by Gentiles without Jewish traditions as a requirement. Greater Europe Mission, Valencia CA
Cecil grew up in SoCal and has 34 years of missionary experience in Europe related to equipping church leaders, church planting, and evangelism. He trained pastors and missionaries at the French-speaking Institut Biblique Belge in Belgium and at Tyndale Theological Seminary in the Netherlands. He currently helps as a mobilizer with Greater Europe Mission; teaches and preaches on missions in local churches, and equips new missionaries for cross-cultural work. Cecil has a PhD in Missiology and has written a number of articles and chapters for mission publications. He lives in Santa Clarita, CA and often watches the squirrels fight over fruit in his backyard.

The Task Remaining

Lesson 10
How Shall They Hear?
Culture and intercultural communication of the gospel. Communicating the gospel with relevance at the worldview level helps avoid syncretism (blending of cultural error with God?s truth) and also enables powerful movements of the gospel. Sensitive missionaries will look for ways that God has preserved or prepared people to hear the gospel, often finding redemptive analogies for God's truth.

Ron and his wife, Kathy, worked in Panama and Colombia for 23 years with Wycliffe. They completed a New Testament translation among the Wounaan people and also did extensive work in developing literacy materials, training pastors, teachers and artists, community development and ethnomusicology. They have published some 80 books in the Wounaan language besides the New Testament and have seen God raise up some 15 churches, all of which are led by Wounaan pastors without the presence of missionaries.
Ron has been a speaker in Perspectives classes since 1994, has coordinated several classes himself and is Professor of Record for many of the classes in which he teaches. In the U.S. he is a speaker and events coordinator for Wycliffe, but he and Kathy also help facilitate ongoing ministry goals determined by the Wounaan church leaders by traveling to Panama 2-3 times a year. Ann is a Bay Area native who spent the first years of her adult life teaching in public schools. During a Perspectives class, God rocked her life and gave her a clear step to move to LA and attend Fuller Seminary in order to best equip her for the nations. After getting her degree in Intercultural Studies, she followed God and served as a church planter amongst the Yawo Muslims in Malawi. Since returning home, she's been serving at Epicentre Church as the Training School Pastor leading discipleship schools to help people be equipped to be witnesses. Her and her husband Yong hope to continue to see the nations impacted through their work in the local church. b

Vicky spent 33 years working in innovative and creative environments from multimillion dollar technology deployments, alliances with technical luminaries such as Steve Jobs, Nicholas Negroponte's MIT media lab, Stanford Research Institute (SRI) and The Walt Disney Studios to entrepreneurial startup businesses. Her primary focus in these organizations included leadership and business development, strategic planning, research and development, innovation and creativity. She became "known" in these organizations for her heart for the Gospel through her daily walk in these high paced and demanding environments. Her passion for Christ took her on a 30-year journey of adventure as she walked on burning coals, assisted with eye clinics in Mexico, participated in medical relief efforts in Bolivia, planted pioneer businesses in Asia and Africa, came face to face with the persecuted church in Orissa, and served widows in the rainforest of Panama. Now she is committed full time to taking the Gospel to the nations through Pioneer Business Planting, building Kingdom businesses, and gobalization! b

The Spontaneous Multiplication of Churches
Look beyond institutional features of churches to understand churches as dynamic movements of Christ Himself being followed. Such a view of churches as organic, living things opens up the practicality of seeing them multiply rapidly as movements and also flourish in society bearing the fruit of social transformation. Churches as counter-communities, acting as salt and light, bringing change to their cultures. How movements multiply by connecting with entire families and larger social structures.

Amy has a passion to mobilize young people and churches to pray, give and go to foster disciple making movements among unreached people groups. She has served with Youth with a Mission (YWAM), Caleb Project, Teen Mania, La Canada Presbyterian church and supervised over 40 Perspectives courses. Leading youth teams to Yemen, India, Turkey, Malaysia, China and Thailand has helped her training remain practical and reproducible, as she continues to train young people in YWAM and churches in Perspectives. Amy and her husband raise cattle in Wyoming and home educate one son, while their other son attends high school.
